podiatrist appointment this afternoon
I saw the podiatrist today. He said he would highly recommend a cortisone shot in my foot today, so that I can get back to walking again.. so, I did it. He said it wasn't going to hurt- it didn't.. the cold, numbing stuff he put on my food did the job.. and I was even able to run into the grocery store and pick up a few items. But, now- it is rather throbby.. which I feel is counter to what I was told. I hope the throbbing doesn't last!
I'm really hoping I'll be able to go walking more, soon!
Vim.. if you're interested, the ring that we're looking at for Geof is completely different from mine.. I think it's more masculine... he spent the majority of his adult life in the lumber business... so when I found wood inlay rings I thought how perfect! Anyway.. of the ones we've found so far.. the second one from the top is his fav:

aww Cindy.. thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad you've enjoyed reading the thread.. it always kind of shocks me though, LOL.
I have no idea how to subscribe to particular threads, really..I think once you reply to one, you're subscribed automatically?
I just use the 'new posts' thing up top.. though I often miss good threads that way
Anyway.. thanks.. also for the 'friend request'.. I added you too..

Since we weren't buying rings till quite close to the wedding (due to my weight loss).. we had lots of time to find just the right style we liked.
I never knew they made rings with wood inlay but was thrilled to find them... the are *perfect* for him, given his background in the lumber business. One he occasionally entertains returning to.. till he remembers that he's almost 60 and that work is damn taxing on the body. Good thing he loves what he's doing now.

Kel!
Gorgeous for each of you!
Glad your foot is sorted and hope throbbing subsides v quickly.
In your account, you can select to have (as I have) your updates to a thread sent automatically to your inbox. So, any thread you post to, you'll automatically receive a message in your email inbox that a reply has been posted (by someone else) to that very thread. The more threads you read and post in, the more emails you receive. If the thread has been dormant, as soon as a new post comes on, you'll be notified. You can choose to "unsubscribe" to any particular thread.
Cheers,

The throbbing has gone and so has the numbness! YAY...
Okay, am I weird, though? Now my shoulder hurts.. I've had arthritis in my shoulder/neck for years, and used to take dolobid for the pain there.. but since it's an NSAID I can no longer take it..
I haven't noticed much for pain until this morning.. my mom thinks the pain in my foot was distracting me and now that the foot pain is gone.. my shoulder has come to the forefront. I see my PCP on the 22nd, so I'll see what my options there are.. just really glad to have the foot pain gone finally! I feel so much more 'normal'.. heh..

Well, I have read your story but I will admit I skipped over most everything except what you wrote. I started last night and put my puter to sleep on this thread. Finished it this afternoon. Very interesting I must say. I am active in a cardmaking forum. I really don't need to be getting hooked on this board. What can I say! I am hanging out here a lot. My life is calm compared to yours. Good luck to you. The weight will come off. Seems to me you have a pretty good insight into your eating behavior.
