She told me not to worry and that they wouldnt make a big deal out of it - they wanted to see me and not just have me over to eat. So we went and it was very pleasant. I still had too much food dished up for me but Gary kindly sneaked some off my plate when no one was looking so it looked like I ate well!

So glad you were able to go! Sounds like you had a good time! Isn't it sad that everything we do involves eating for the most part!? This surgery has opened my eyes to a lot! I am more observant now.

Well done An. I have had my gastroscopy and last visit is with the Prof tomorrow. I am struggling to loose any weight and I read about your losses and it gives me hope that I can follow. You are doing really well.

Hey Angela,

Dont lose hope - you are of the fortunate ones who have less to lose and because your weight is lower you're at less risk already - which is the aim of the presurgical weight loss. Speak to your prof, but I really doubt she will cancel your surgery because you HAVE lost 6kg so you've proved your commitment. Keep me updated!

I'm doing well... losing slower now but steadily so it's fine! I'v had this awful stomach flu that's going around so have hardly eaten anything and my stomach is in pain from all the vomiting and gagging... but it's finally tailing off now.

Default Long time!

Phew, it's been almost a month since I've written... it's a good sign of life being back to normal I guess!

I've been doing really well, had some time off and went on a holiday to our beautiful coastline. When I got back I had severe stomach pain for about 3 days though - I couldnt lie down, it would just get worse. I went back to my surgeon for my 3month post op check up (time flies!) and asked him about it, he did a sonar and all looks fine, he said it's trapped air. He says that because I'm now on normal foods, my stomach and intestines are producing more gasses and they can just get trapped sometimes. He said it would go away away by itself, which it did.

Has anyone struggled with bad headaches and migraines post op? The last 3 weeks have been bad, with headaches almost every day. Any ideas - I thought it might be die to rapid fat loss or detox?

I can't believe it - my nutritionist says I only have about 10kgs (22lbs) to lose! It's so surreal. The weird thing though is that when I look at my body I still see this huge flabby stomach - the same a 6 months ago. Obviously it HAS shrunk - I'm quite a few sizes down, it's just weird that I cant physically see it unless I look at comparing photos. To my naked eye I am just as big as 6 months ago. hmmm.

Would love to hear from you all.

An
