Talking Gallbladder Ultrasound done!

Yeah! I was the first one in at RMG this morning, my UHC insurance had already given approval (can we say yahoo?) for the procedure, and I was done by 7:20 am.

Now all I need to do is get the copies of all the tests, etc, and get them to Dr. Callery, and go to the Pre-op support group Thursday, and Nutrition group next Wed and I'll be done with my part of the equation. Can you tell I'm very excited???

The stat about 50% of marriages breaking up after WLS scares me, but then again, someone else told me that the general stat is 60% of marriages end in divorce, so I guess WLS losers do better than the general population. LOL

I have been a total slug for a while, but today, I was sitting here at work and decided to go down to the building gym, and I walked for 10 minutes. For those who walk several miles a day, that might not sound like much, but it was 10 minutes more than I've done for a long time.

Unhappy

A coworker chewed me out yesterday. The fact that I deserved it only made it worse. My mood dropped like a stone, and I felt that stony mask on my face all day. She was fine after she blasted me. I still have a ball of misery in my gut, and it was hard to come to work today.

So, I guess I can continue to wallow in self-pity or I can get on with my day. I have such a protective emotional shut off valve, and it clicked me off, and I don't think I've turned back on yet. But I want to go hide away somewhere.

Awwe, me too Nancy, big hugs. It is always worse when you know you messed up. Just wait, when you find your self esteem once again or for the first time ever, you will blast her right back, neener neener so there!

The thing that was the hardest about it is she is very dear to me. She's a wonderful person, and just needed to get her resentment off her chest. I just can't see myself blasting her.

Question

We went to the nutrition meeting last night. Kelly talked about the difficulties with divorce, addictions and depression that happen after surgery. When she talked about losing your best friend of food, my husband got concerned. He said he's worried about my mood, and that I snap at the kids now, how will I be when I can't comfort myself with food. I told him that since I've been so clear with the boys about not drinking alcohol, I doubt that would be where I'd turn. We talked about exercise as a good addiction to have. Take care of my stress. He's willing to support me working out.

That sounds like a great plan Nancy!

Smile

Today is my secret 19th wedding anniversary. The big public wedding was August 16th. My husband got me a beautiful pin that matches the necklace and earrings he's gotten me for previous anniversaries. He also got me the most romantic loving card. And there I was without a card or present for him! Of course I'd told him to order a DVD writer he wanted for his present. But that's not very romantic. I decided that he'll get a romantic present from me tonight.
