Izan,

I just finally got the time to sit and read through your thread. I must say that I am incredibly proud of you for "taking your life back" and demanding your insurance to do something. Keep up the great work, it sounds like you are extremely motivated and before long you will be at goal!

I wish my father had the same motivation as you, he died at 444lbs at 60 years old. He was so depressed and devasted, he just couldn't fight anymore. It was a very sad ending to his life.

Keep up the great work and you have a wonderful future to look forward to!

Congrats!

Thanks Renee, I really appreciate your words of encouragement. I am very sorry about your dad. I wish he could have had the advantage of this tool like we have had. I am glad you took care of yourself too. Congrats on the baby. Were you scared getting pregnant after gbs? My husband and I have had many problems with infertility issues, miscarriages, and he wants me to go on shot for the time being but I figure I haven't gotten pregnant in 10 years, that I won't now. Not to mention I am alot older now (40). Anyways great job on the weight loss after the baby too!!!!!! Continued good LUck

Your Very Welcome Izan! I decided right after my father passed that I had to do something about my weight or I would be him eventually and I would not die like he did.

I was not "afraid" about getting pregnant after gbs but as my pregnancy progressed and I couldn't eat much I did get very nerveous that I had made a mistake. But eventually everything fell into place.

My first 3 children I was not heavy so I never had any trouble with infertility. Right after my surgery "by accident" I did end up pregnant and it ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. God knew what he was doing, it was a sad time but my body was not ready to handle a baby. I was only about 4 months out of surgery when that happen. I was on the depo shot when I got pregnant with my first daughter, I also gained about 15lbs while on the shot. Thank God, I got my tubes tied now! phewwwww It seems like after gbs people get fertile so becareful if you are not planning on having anymore babies. It seems like our hormones and such get out of whack for awhile.

Your such a success already and can't wait to continue to follow your progress.

Thank you for the compliments on my weight loss and baby. It has come so natural for me, I really haven't had any major complications or setbacks.

Default Bad Day

I am 1 month post op and my scale will not be nice to me. I have gained and lost the same pound and 1/2 every day for 2 weeks. I am doing all that I know how, but it still won't move. I am hoping all of you are right and the scale will start moving down soon. My sister in law says I must be doing something wrong. Of course, she is a skinny beotch, and doesn't know anything about this surgery, but it still hurts for her to say that. Please God, don't let me be a failure at this too. Please let the people who have been through this be right.

Found My Kryptonite!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SO LAST NIGHT I DECIDED TO HAVE A SMALL SNACK. I THOUGHT A SMALL PIECE OF TOAST WITH SOME PEANUT BUTTER WOULD BE GOOD. I NEVER GET IN ALL MY PROTEIN SO I THOUGHT THIS WOULD HELP. NOPE, NO WAY, NEVER AGAIN TO EAT PEANUT BUTTER. IT IS STILL STUCK AFTER ONLY 2 MINI BITES. I STILL WANT TO THROW UP BUT IT WONT COME UP. I AM READY TO STICK MY FINGER DOWN MY THROAT. I HAVEN'T REALLY HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH FOOD, EXCEPT CHICKEN IF I EAT TOO FAST. BUT PEANUT BUTTER IS DEADLY. BAD, BAD PEANUT BUTTER. YOU WERE A BAD GIRL. GO IN THE CORNER. GOODBYE FOR NOW PEANUT BUTTER. MAYBE FOREVER.

I Am So Happy. Today The Scale Moved Again. It Was About Time. I Think I Was At The Same Weight For 2 And 1/2 Weeks. I Hate Plateaus Already. It Was Down 3 Lbs When Dressed And 5 Lbs With Just Nightgown. I Usually Weigh With Just Nightgown, But Didn't Want To Get Discouraged, So Only Went With The 3lbs. I Hope It Keeps Moving. Yea Me!!!! Maybe I Am Not Going To Be A Failure With This Afterall. JUST 10 MORE POUNDS TO THE 200'S. BOY I HAVE NOT SEEN THE 200'S IN OVER 12 YEARS.

Default My 6 week post op appointment today

ok, so nutritionist said she was sure it was 95% the toast. Then the pb on top of it gooped it all up at my opening. She said to try pb in a week or so. I might try, unsure though. I have officially lost 32lbs since surgery. I was given more suggestions on protein. I had been eating 1/4 cup of peanuts for protein and Dr and Nutritionist said NO NO NO!!!! Peanuts have too many calories for the little protein they offer. I actually cried when the Dr left the room. No reason really, just sad. Hormones all over the place today. I had no problem with peanuts though and they satisfied my cravings for salt. So, good bye peanuts. I will try the deli shaved meats she recommended. She said at 6 weeks, I should be only taking in 20 to 30 grams of protein and only 200 to 300 calories per day. According to so many others this should be more, but I will follow the Drs orders. My iron is low, so that is why I feel so tired lately, not to mention 2 monthlys in 6 weeks. Way more than what my body is used to. I also forgot that I needed Thaimine, so tomorrow I have to go for some type of extra iron or prenatal, and the Thaimine. More pills, OMG. I cant wait for the weight to be gone. No wonder she said 200 to 300 calories. I take so many pills, I am going to be full for a week, just from one day of meds and vitamins. Oh well, what ever makes the weight go away I guess. Nutritionist said the typical is 10% weight loss for the 1st month, so I am behind a bit according to her. She said not to worry, everyone is different, but kind of made me feel bad. Again hormones I am sure. Oh well, what is a woman to do?

ok, I am not sure what happened tonite. I went to hang up my jacket, and all of a sudden had a sharp pain in my left side. Hands where not over head or anything, just shoulder length. The pain is I guess not really bad but actually enough to make me want some pain meds. I haven't taken anything since my discharge and really want to wait. I am confused as to why this might be happening. I have been really quesy all day, and haven't really felt like eating anything. I am drinking my water, but not really anything else. I ate some egg and cheese for lunch, but that is it for the day. I felt ok with it, not really needing to vomit or actually nauseas, just quesy, like when you are coming down a hill real fast. Last night I ate a little oatmeal and wanted to vomit all night. Bought some slow release iron, but didn't take because they are capsules and too big. I know I need to take it but need a different one. I know to call the dr, but I think I will wait. I think I will post this else where, (not just under my personal story) and see if anyone has any suggestions.
