I am so impressed with you. What a great mom you are! As a teacher, I see so many parents who sweep stuff under the rug and don't deal with this kind of issue head on, as you did. You did a wonderful thing for your kid and for the world. I say world because Ashton is going to grow up, and thanks to you, he's going to remember that justice, acceptance, and peace all go hand-in-hand.

Since I can't have alcohol yet...I raise a protein shake in your honor! Ashton is one lucky kid!

Thanks for commenting Mike, It means alot to me. It was really difficult to even admit the word had come out of Ashton's mouth.

I have a case of crushing mommy guilt at least twice everyday. They are ALWAYS going to be things that I could do better. I try to remind myself that above all, Ash knows how to love and that he is loved immeasurably.

I showed him the website last night and he feigned humiliation. I could tell he secretly loved being in the spotlight. I played along and told him I could email her to remove the picture. "That's ok mom, that could hurt her feelings and I wouldn't want to do that."

He's getting it.

HAPPY LEAP DAY

To couteract D's subtle monthly proposals I suggested that we get married in four years on this exact day.

He didn't exactly agree but I thought it a wonderful solution to my commitment phobia.

We are going to see 'The Other Boleyn Girl' today. I am soo excited. I loved the book and hope the movie lives up to my hype. I adore ms portman so that alone is worth the ticket price.

And it's FRIDAY. Before I got dressed to take Ash to school, I weighed in at 209.5!!!!!!! Now I'm 210.5 with clothing added

I am SO.FREAKING.CLOSE to ONE DER LAND

BillH inspired me to reread my entire thread and wowzers.

I am beyond happy that I decided to document it all. Sometimes in the present, it doesnt seem that I have come far at all because I still have so far to go but when you remember where you started and relive the journey it puts it ALL into persepective.

I've come a looong way baby and it feels good to know that.

I am so very grateful for this site where I can share this incredible journey with supportive and understanding friends who are also on this road.

mood for today is overwhelming gratitude and that is a great mood to be in

Wow, as a minister, often my job is to try in whatever small way, to be 'inspiring' and most Sundays, I know I get more yawns than "atta boys!" I think all of us are really just "conduits" that cause the most powerful force in all the world, L-O-V-E, to be spread and to increase.... You made me feel great to read I somehow inspired YOU to re-read that whole thread...but believe me, YOU are the inspiration!

On this extra day that only happens once every four years we can suspend reality and call today Sunday and the thread my sermon. Anything that prompts an attutide of gratitude is a lesson worth learning

I believe the two true base emotions are fear and love.

If you love and spread love everything else flows from that. It's a beautiful thing to belive in that and spread that message to the masses. After all, if you only reach one person every Sunday it is all worth it and I'm positive that happens for you on a weekly basis.

The last few days have been a whirlwind. I'm just so tired all the time. That must mean it's time to start taking liquid B-12. I'm just wiped out.

I took half a day off today in exchange for working a partial Saturday. I just couldn't make it all the way through today. I only have to make it tomorow and then a partial Saturday, full Sunday and then I'm OFF for one whole week. SPRING BREAK. We are thinking of heading to VEGAS I have yet to meet my new nephew and I want some cuddles.

Both Ash and I are stoked for 'Horton Hears A Who" He had a Dr Suess field day today. Dr. Suess is a celebrity in our household. Rosie also told me about a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt that Ash can participate in. Sooo we will be celebrating Easter that whole week since I'm scheduled to work on the actual day.

So thus begins the official OSTARA celebration.
