I was just heading out to the store because I saw an add for Special K protein shakes and I wanted to try them. I stopped in here on my way out the door so I could see if anyone on here has talked about them before, and now I'm glad I stopped. I'm going to get the stuff to make an omlet. I wonder if I like Feta cheese???

The recommendation is for annual check-ups/bloodwork annually after the first year.

They are pretty high in sugar, though. Especially after surgery, they would be a bad choice. Many people would dump on that much sugar. Also, they aren't really that high in protein. There are much better options for protein shakes.

I don't know much about the Special K Protein Shakes so looked the nutrition info up.

French Vanilla - 1 bottle (296mL)

Calories - 180
Total Fat - 5g
Cholesterol - 15mg
Sodium - 230mg
Potassium - 520mg
Total Carbs - 29g
.. Dietary Fiber - 5g
.. Sugars - 18g
Protein - 10g

It contains "NONFAT MILK, WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE" as it's protein sources.

There are better, more WLS friendly options out there.
