Mike, you should be proud of yourself (sounds like you are, but that's ok). You've done and awesome job and are an inspiration to all of us. I can't believe how much weight you've lost and to be honest, you don't look like you ever were a large person.

I am going to take your advice about all the fluids. I'm struggling with that and with getting enough food in at all, so my weight loss isn't astounding (around 18 pounds since surgery--it goes up and down). I know it's because of the lack of fluids. Can't wait until I get the ok to go back to Curves. I'm sure that'll speed things up.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and I'm looking forward to our next WNY Losers get together.

I've been a little MIA lately, but I guess it's just the evolution of life in this new body.

I thought I'd stop in for a quick update, as it's been ages, though not a whole lot is going on. I've been sort of stuck in the same place for a couple of months, gaining and losing the same 2 or 3 pounds, and staying generally around the 205 mark. I really want to get under 200 pounds, but I really like crackers, cheese, and peanut butter too. My pouch still keeps me in control, and while I don't think it has stretched significantly, I can eat an entire bagel or an entire sandwich and just be on the edge of full. Things like chicken and steak are still difficult, as they seem to fill me up very quickly. For the most part, I still get in over 80 grams of protein daily, between 80-100 ounces of fluid, I take that damn horse vitamin every day, and I exercise a couple of times a week.

I'm coming up on a year and a half out--and I can say that I've TOTALLY changed my lifestyle. I don't eat fried foods, I don't eat sugary stuff, and I'm not drink soda at all. I'm not being as zealous as I could be with the exercise and carb addiction, but I'm in a really healthy place right now, and I've not been here in decades!

I've had the first of two minor surgeries to fix varicose veins in my legs. I go back in April for the follow up procedure. I have the consultation with the plastic surgeon at the end of this month for the tummy tuck, which I hoping to have in the next few months.

All in all, this was still the best decision I've ever made.

I apologize for not being here as much lately...I still get to talk to many of you via Twitter and Facebook, so if you haven't befriended me in one of those places, the contact info is below. I hope all of you are doing well and it's nice to be able to pop back in here from time to time and it still feel like home.

God Bless!

-Mike

Nice to read an update, Mike! I miss your words of wisdom here

As for those last few lbs... that tummy tuck is probably the thing that is sitting between you and that goal weight you're looking for.. and that for all intents & purposes, you're really already at goal, perhaps?

I hope my tastes don't change too drastically, I've been feeling this week that I CAN do this. I'm just nervous about tomorrow.

I look forward to coming back and writing about my experience in a few days. I can't even begin to tell you what a comfort it's been to be able to see all of your experiences and triumphs since I joined the forum. I appreciate all of your contributions, and look forward to seeing you on the Loser side in a few short 77days.

I raise a glass (with protein infused Crystal Light!) to you all for your bravery. I know it will carry me through this new road I begin in the morning.

Hi Mike--miss your posts--I am going to befriend you on facebook so talk to you soon hopefully. I know that Caruana sometimes recommends Shirley Anain for plastics--are you by chance going to her? I used to work for her, her brother and father--Shirley is a great plastic surgeon and a wonderful person.
