Mike,
the power of positive thinking...
I neither will NOT let myself buy big - I just don't want to risk going there or hanging around there "again".
Nope, I buy a size down (tight fit) wait until I fit into it comfortably and when it starts becoming loose, then I head for again the next size down. I use classic cuts, buy only two items of decent (but not superlative) quality, wear whatever it is to death and move on.
I do not even wish my now oversized items on anybody, even if they might come handy for my expectant daughter - her problem, not mine! Besides, maternity wear is cut differently!
So, focus on small, quality and the right fit for the right price with a margin of decent wear.
So much more encouraging!
Have you changed shoe size a lot? I did within the first two months and again in this last (9th) month... Am buying insoles like no tomorrow!
Gently does it, just keep plugging away at the inches...
Cheers,
Vim

**I'm making a mental note to not step inside Old Navy**

I'm confused enough now.

Shopping outside the constraints of Lane Bryant and The Avenue have been a challange for me.

I'm content to wear 18 size shirts and my best friends old jeans. (the bigger shirts cover the ever fading muffin top AND I look hot)

I think I'm just going to wait until my sister is in Phoenix to celebrate Thanksgiving and then we will hit the Black Friday sales. My sista is a pro at sizing up my body, eyeing clothes and plucking them from the sales rack.

And you, my friend, are looking hot. Old Navy sales or full price

Okay...a quick update because something is going on with my body.

I've tried to stop weighing myself every 20 seconds...and am down to once or twice a week. The last time I weighed was last Saturday...and I was at 210. This morning, I'm at 206. Was there some sort of weird planetary alignment, comet impact, or tidal force that caused a shift in gravity this week? I'm not totally reliant on that 206 number...fluctuations will occur I'm sure...but that means that I'm less than 10 pounds to my goal of being under 200. (I have an additional goal to get to 185--but I'll deal with that later!) I haven't lost 4 pounds in one week in MONTHS! I'm hoping it's related to the good karma from going back into the grocery store and paying for the book the baby stole earlier in the week!

I'm baffled. (But thrilled!)

-Mike

Mike I experienced the same thing this week. I'm not complaining though.

That's awesome!

If anyone has good karma coming to them, it's you!

Mike--
That very phenomenon is why I tell people who have 'reached goal' and claim to be done losing that it is their bodies who will decide when they're at goal and ready to stop losing! It sounds like your body and you are on the same page goal-wise. I'm betting that your eating is going more into 'maintenance mode' than active losing mode. So you're still working off more calories than you consume--yay Mike! This is the time when you employ the eating and exercise programs that will carry you forward as a 'normal' person. It's also the time to start thinking about whether or not you want plastics, as I'm sure after 200 lbs you must have some loose skin.

What a feat! How stellar! Way to go! I hope you are as proud of you as we all are! Your hard work is inspiration to all of us, and the payoff is all yours. You still have that roguish smile and those sparkling eyes, your wit and wisdom, and two incredible women who love you--with good reason!

Kudos from TT to you!

I know what you mean. Too bad we can't always figure out how we did it, huh? That would be very helpful!

Is that you and Michelle? Kidding...

Actually...the shock at losing the weight is precisely because I HAVEN'T really done the right things this week. I had a burrito from Taco Bell...which took me all day to eat, I might add. My diet has basically been Baked Pita Chips, Cheese, Oatmeal, and Protein Bars. I'm having shrimp and soup today though at our meet and greet. I don't know if I would call this week's diet bad or good, well, it's not been bad, bad--it could have been better. There were a couple of days where I felt like I had eaten everything in the house, and others where I just didn't eat much at all. Is this maintenance? If it is, I can TOTALLY deal with it for life. Perhaps all the hard work has finally led to an "easier to deal" place...???

Love ya, Donna!

-Mike
