I'm up early. (For a Saturday.)
And I'm just mulling a few things over.
I'm wondering how Claire is doing (and all the other Texans) with the hurricane.
I'm wondering how it's been almost an entire year since the surgery.
I'm wondering if I can lose 4 more pounds before I go to the doc on Thursday. (Not likely)
I'm wondering why the folks on the forum that get upset about certain posts continue reading them?
I'm wondering how Katie and Dick are doing in their new house...
I'm just wondering...wandering maybe, Here. In My Head.

Good morning sunshine!
Last post from Claire, she was doing okay but worried about Galveston. I watched the weather channel all night. It aint pretty. Tornadoes are forming also, possibly one in Houston.

Hey Michelle! I haven't talked to you in like FOREVER!
I just looked at Claire's Facebook...nothing in the last 8 hours. 4 million without power though...I'm anxious to hear from her! She'll most likely talk to Corrine before the rest of us...I may call Corrine in a little while...

Power is back on, after 10 hours.
The Gulf is devastated - much of what I have loved there for years is gone, totally smashed to bits. Hotels where we have stayed, beach houses we have rented. Makes me so sad.
Galveston Island is under water, Beaumont is under water, Houston is under water to a great degree. 3 million people with no power, and it will take weeks to get power back. It's a monumental tragedy.
I'm grateful that we got through this with relatively little difficulty. It's miraculous, really.
I didn't want to hijack your story, Mike - just responding to your lovely concern, and Michelle's as well.
Hugs!

8 drinks and I'm still standing. (Over the course of five hours.)
I had 6 Mike's Hard lemondades and 2 beers, all light drinks and low carbbs. I didn't eat a whole lot today and I can't feel my head or my lips, but I've kept a nice buzz and I've enjoyed the evening with frends. I had more in thes one night than I've had in the last year...it's not something I'll do often... but the buzzness is reallly kind of awesome. It feels a little collegiate, and I was able to hold my own in a normal way. I'm having a good night.
Now I'm going to bed.
