Eric,

I'm almost crying laughing. I am right there with you. I hope my man teats, or Moobs, as I call them, disappear here in the next few months.

I've tried wearing shirts in the pool, but I concur, trying to get out with that much wet fabric draped across me is difficult. I was never shy when I was younger, but I think I'm still about 50 pounds away from being brave in public.

Also, I'm about 100 pounds away from being brave enough to show my shirt off before photos...I can't believe how big I had gotten.

I'm sure I'll lose the shyness with the weight, but I *DO* appreciate your story...it was Damn Funny!

-Mike

Default Moobs!

Moobs! I love it! It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode in which George got into a physical fight with the "boy in the bubble", following a Trivial Pursuit game in which George insisted that the answer card's misprinted answer "the Moops" was the correct answer to a trivia question involving the Moors and their conquest of Spain...

Moobs! Almost as cool as Sea Monkeys!

"Oh, no, it's the Moops!"

I said that so much after that episode that my wife almost broke up with me! (We were dating then...)

My current favorite lines are both from the "Office":

"If you're not supposed to mix business with pleasure, then please explain to me how the Putt Putt Golf company works."
&
"I'm not superstitious, I'm just a little Stitious."

Default Just stitious!

Mike, thank you for those quotes! I haven't seen "The Office" for far too long!

I also had a phase of using "the Moops" far too often, but fortunately it didn't endanger my non-existent love life at the time - my three cats collectively received that nickname post-Seinfeld and I used to refer to them often in coversation as "the Moops" rather than "my cats", sort of like one refers casually to "the Munchkins" or (more accurately, in the case of my furbabies) "the Mongol hordes"...

I go back to work next Monday. I'm not sure what's going to happen though. I start off really well in the morning, but by the time I'm done with that protein shake, I've got a good hour of nausea to deal with. Then, sometime after lunch I just get EXHAUSTED and need to lay down. I don't know, I just go through these spells during the day, and the day I go back to work is from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm!

On a nicer note, I had pizza today for the first time since my surgery. Now, before anybody flips out...it was one of those South Beach Diet Pizzas. It is 7:15 when I write this, and I've eaten 3/5 of it, which I started at about 2:30. I'm going to try eat the rest of it in about an hour. It has a whole wheat crust, but it tastes SOOOO Good! AND it's got 31 grams of protein in it! WOO HOO!

I'm not gonna smack ya around for eating pizza! The topping is full of protein. I actually had 3 tiny bites of thin crust pepperoni pizza with extra cheese last night and it went down and didn't hurt, but knew it was time to stop and not push it since I have such a hard time with solids. I was thrilled to get to eat that! It tasted like a few lil bites of heaven! LOL

Default Back To Work!

Well, it's 6:20 in the morning, and I go back to work today!

Everything seems to be fine, except I packed a week's worth of lunches in the same bag that I used to pack a day's worth! This week, I'm having protein shakes in the morning (though I'm switching to Carnation Instant Breakfast and 12 ounces of milk for 17g protein in lieu of the real protein shake...), a protein bar snack mid day, 1 oz of cheese and 8 wheat thins for lunch, and a protein water mid-afternoon, for a total during the working day of around 40g of protein. And, I'm taking lots of water with me and Crystal Light!

I'll post again in a couple of days and let you know how things are going!

-Mike

Wishing you well on your first day back to work podmate.

Don't be surprised if you're dead beat even before you get home - like I told my doc the other day - I firmly believe that we need at least 6 months off (preferably in the Carribean) following WLS - all paid for of course! LOL

Look forward to hearing how it went.
