Mike you look so great. You have to be so proud of yourself. You are doing this so good. Your wife is so lucky to have a man like yourself, and your daughter such a wonderful daddy. I just wanted to say hi and tell you thanks for all your kind words and encouragement. Also Happy Birthday to us this week.

I really ought to try a PT again.

I had a trial run a few months ago but the gal I got wasn't a good match.

She strutted around in a spray-on outfit - one with dental floss up her a$$ - kept admiring herself in the mirror and if she told me once, she told me a dozen times that she lost her post-pregnancy 30lb the "normal" way!

I'm proud of you Mike - sweating like you were in menopause? WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!!!

Well today I put off what I have not wanted to do and that is clean my closets---ugh---and drawers---I am kind of worried about the surgery--not a fan so I keep putting off doing these things so I don't jinx myself--I know it sounds crazy but I just need to get over it.

Anyway--I had to take a break--it is a good thing I saved all my clothes for the past few years because I always thought "if I lose 20 lbs I can wear that" Well--I have enough clothes to wear until I lose 50 lbs--lol. I also have a pile of clothes for Goodwill and my daughter. She and I are built differently so unfortunately she won't be able to use alot of my stuff. I have my weight in the midsection and she is pear shaped so alot of my tops are too big for her and unless my pants sit on my hips (which I have some) they won't fit her because her waist is so small but her hips and legs are not. The hospital I work for has an area for people to come and get clothes no questions asked if they need them so I will take whatever my daughter can't wear there. Anyone can "shop" there patients or staff. I never saw that the other hospital I worked at and think it is a great thing!

OK I better go back to the closet--the shelves and hangers are done--now I am going back to the bags stored on the floor in the back--I may never get out--between the weight and my arthritis I may never get off the floor again!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I saw the other post about bloodwork, but I thought I'd post my info here...just for the sake of keeping track of stuff like this in my Long Road thread.

I went to both the dentist and the doctor tonight. With the new insurance, my root canal is 100% paid for, save a $5 copay. I was so upset thinking about spending $2000 for the root canal, and was considering having the tooth pulled. This dentist pretty much said my other one was full of crap, and that he should be investigated for charging $2000 more for a root canal than what was traditionally charged everywhere else. This guy also had normal sized fingers and didn't shake, so that was a plus too. (Since dentists tend to stick their fingers in your mouth...I know it's weird, but it's something I noticed...)

Later in the evening, I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. I've lost 55 pounds roughly since my last visit in February and he was really pleased with my progress. I got a copy of my bloodwork, and here's the highlights:

Test My # Normal Range
Calcium 9.7 8.6 - 10.2
Glucose 90 65-99 (this was fasting)
Cholesterol 123 125-200 (under the range!)
Triglcyerides 87 <150
A1C 5.5 <6.0 (it was over 7 before surgery)

All in all, everything was dead on NORMAL. I asked my doctor about a bone scan and the absorption of calcium. He said that my numbers had increased slightly and that he would order a bone scan in five years, unless those numbers began to drop, even a little. My A1C number was down 4/10 of a point since last time so I hope that keeps dropping. My blood pressure was 134/82, which the nurse said was fine, but I want that a little lower too. Pre-op, I was running an average of 150/99, so it is better...I just want it to keep going down too.

For those who know me, I do have a funny tidbit. I asked the doctor to feel the center of my chest, that I had some sort of abnormal growth and that as I lost weight, it seemed to be getting bigger and more firm. It sticks out visibly now to where I can see a slight bulge on top of the skin.

Turns out, it is my sternum. I felt like a freaking moron. (I have a degree in biology...) I was sure it was some subcutaneous cyst. Ah...live and learn!

Your test results and weight loss are phenomenal, Mike.. but you just crack me up with your sternum bit.. last night I was looking in my hand mirror (eyes not what they used to be)..and I noticed this divot at the base on my neck... showed it to DD and she says "Mum.. that's all part of your clavicle". I said "what?" She said.. it's NORMAL MOTHER and rolled her eyes. LOL.. hmmmkay.. It looks so weird to me.
