Mike,
What gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing!
What an amazingly beautiful beach scene - makes it so so exotic from a London perspective!
The crab is just unreal! Does it really have those amazingly shiny eyes?!
And is Paula a cardboard cut out?
Mike, dentist story apart, you are looking happy, relaxed and serene. Thrilled to see - the slim you really suits you!
Gorgeous guy! Keep it up!
Cheers,
Vim

Mike, you and the family are gorgeous! My moobs are envying yours! I'm so glad you're all (or should I say "all y'all're") having a great time! I love Savannah and want to go back and spend more time there, particularly the squares of the Old Town - just not in July! I went to the beach at Tybee Island two years ago this month and it was such a welcome change to frolic in the surf after suffering through Savannah's seriously oppressive heat and humidity, which has been known to actually liquefy carbon-based life forms...

In that picture of the three of you at the beach Lily looks EXACTly like Liz. Wow! How fun to get to watch her grow up and see how her little face changes.
I'm so glad you're having a great vacation.
P.S.: Mike, I went to the dentist today to get a filling. I thought of you as they were giving me the yucky numbing shot. Not fun! Now my gum is all sore.

Well, we're back from vacation, so I can get back to posting...
Whit--we miss you too! (Come visit...)
Erin--I canceled my root canal. I'm struggling more with the $2000 it's going to cost than I am the pain (or perceived pain). We're getting new dental insurance with my new job starting August 1st, so I'm going to wait and see what it will cover. I'm still thinking of just having it pulled. The dentist said I was a "Dental Cripple." I thought that was nice phrasing to be throwing out to people. I think he's a Bedside Manner Cripple. He doesn't need to tell me everything...the crap I dream up as possible scenarios are bad enough in my head!
Eric--Thanks brother! I'm not at all happy with the Moob situation, but I'm trying to embrace what I've got--hence the posting of the moobage. They've taken decades to create, I guess it will take more than a few months to get rid of them. There's got to be a way to talk the insurance company into a little nip and tuck in that area. **I'm thinking of things to claim as I type.** Hey, aren't you a lawyer? Let's find a loophole brother, maybe we can get a group tit deal?!?!
Vim--the crab's eyes WERE that shiny. I know geckos lick their eyes to keep them moist, maybe these crabs do something similar! As for Paula--yes, she was a cutout. Though even in cardboard, she was just as sincere as I imagine she is in person! (Though the stuff in her store was quite expensive!)
Overall, things are going well in the Land of Fisher. Some recent highlights:
-I didn't gain any weight on vacation, no thanks to Starbuck's and their new Vivanno Protein shakes.
-I ate a piece of pizza for the first time and it was delicious! I didn't eat the crust and was only able to eat one slice, then felt guilty for eating the bread part because it was "white bread" but it was thin pizza so the guilt didn't last too long. It went down okay, and gave me a great sense of normalcy, even though I know it will be awhile before that happens again.
-I am comfortably in a size 38. Some of my size 40's are falling off of me. (THank goodness!) I've tried on several different styles of pants/shorts in the 38 size and some fit better than others, but I haven't been in 38's in God knows when--over 20 years!
-Liz bought me a size Medium sweater at the Eddie Bauer outlet. It was cut big and FIT, but I OWN A PIECE OF CLOTHING THAT SAYS IT'S A MEDIUM. SWEEEEEET!
-The Pannus is starting to piss me off. I want it gone. I'm talking to the surgeon in September (my GB surgeon) to get a referral and a timeline for making it happen.
-I took my shirt off at the beach--I don't think I've done that since I was a senior in high school--AND I posted pics on the Internet. My confidence is growing and I'm feeling better and better about how I look. (Pannus and Moobs aside) I'm starting to see tinier flaws that I overlooked before, but they are nothing in comparison to this new body, new health, and new feeling!
-I'm happy. (And I like that I can say that and mean it.)
-Mike
