Default WoooHooo!

Awesome Mike + Evil Elliptical = Lava, Baby!

I'm on fire--don't get too close--I'm scorching it today!

50 MINUTES ON THE ELLIPTICAL--a new record for me!

4.3 Miles
530 calories burned

It only took 8 months! (I probably could have done it much sooner, but my feet fall asleep at about 30 minutes in...I just kept pushing it today! ) When I first got on the elliptical, I tripped and vowed not to get back on it. My first time with a trainer--she put me back on it and I did 2 minutes. A week later, I was up to 8 minutes...and then uphill from there.

My next goal? ONE HOUR!

Damn I feel great today--now off to the shower!

-Mike

A couple of wow moments today!

First of all, I hit 239 this morning. I haven't been under 240 since 1989. Almost 20 years!

Second of all, I went to an amusement park today--Darien Lake up here in Western New York and I "FIT" on all the rides--perfectly, completely normally. I was ecstatic. I was just like everybody else. I was just normal. The overwhelming happiness didn't last that long because I spent the better part of the day analyzing the entire situation because my brain just won't turn off. But I discovered a couple of things today, things that I thought of before, but just really concretely grasped in the context of this one day:

1. A good 30-40% of the guys at the park today were bigger than me.
2. Their tits (moobs) were as big or bigger than mine and I should have no shame in sharing them with the world. (They are on the weblog right now--you can get there through my public page. That was one of the hardest pictures I've ever posted, but it is what my truth is, and I cannot, will not be ashamed anymore.)
3. I am no longer a freak. I'm included without being pitied. (Which I think is major. People do this without thinking, not knowing I analyze their every move, whisper, and action. I'm not stupid, I was just forgiving. 99% of the people that one deals with have preconceived notions and natural responses that are beyond their control. I don't want others to change to suit me, I want them to be who they really are, so that I am comfortable with being the authentic me.)
4. Skinny people have insecurities that I will never have to deal with. Their imperfections pale in comparison to mine. Mine were major and the minor details of the end of the weight loss portion of my journey are insignificant to me and my confidence level is through the roof.
5. There is no such thing as perfection. It's not even a good thing to aspire to. The things that I perceive as wrong or needing improvement are simply unique things that make me who I am. I don't need to change everything to become me. I'm already me and I need to improve my attitude and nothing else. (Though I'll still have plastic surgery--sometimes the mirror still shows a slightly different story than the one I've imagined!)
6. While I'm still moody and all over the place psychologically, I'm in a much happier, much healthier place. I could have been here all along if not for my choices, but what matters is that I'm making better choices now. And now I will have much much longer on this earth to continue learning about what better choices can do for me.

I'm on the edge of a freedom I've never known. I'm losing my chains.

-Mike

I just love you, Mama Katie...I really do.

PS. Lily got a little nebulizer today to do the breathing treatments. She did them much better at home and had a good day today! I think we're going to try the baby gym thing again Tuesday night.
