Mike, I'm so proud of you!!!!

And yes, hard to ignore the comparisons, but do your best. I recall dwelling on the plateaus, which happened frequently, but in the end, they didn't really matter.

I'm coming up on one year -- all of us moving forward -- it's the way of the universe!

I was just playing around with the BMI calculator and had a little WOW moment. My BMI is down 33% from 61 to 41. I can't believe it!

I really can't believe all of this is happening. It seems so surreal--like it's going to be taken from me any minute. Does anyone else feel that way? I'm so amazed...can it really all be for real?

Unbelievable!

Mike, even 2 years postop I STILL feel that way. It still doesn't seem real to me and I sometimes wonder if suddenly I will wake up from this dream, get on the scale and once again see 359 instead of the 156 I saw this morning. My BMI was 57.9 and now it is 25.2. It still blows me away, daily....so yep...I get it my friend.

Mike, I feel exactly the same way. I look down toward my toes and don't recognize the body in between. It is very strange, isn't it? Next month I will be one year out, 2 months since reaching goal.

I hope I always feel this way - a great sense of appreciation.

The surgery, the discomfort, the plateaus - all a distant and unimportant memory - unimportant because those inconvenineces just fade now and what surfaces is this wonderful feeling that you describe.

Question Could it be....

...... that we were separated at birth?

You think and do exactly the same things as I do..... apart from the licking and shaving (and a few other things which are subjects for other forums), I think we are living parallel lives

Mike - I am proud of you, and of everyone else. You are hitting that stage where the honeymoon period wanes...and that is natually hard. Hang in there - you are doing so awesome!! Every time I see you, you are getting smaller and smaller - pretty soon, you'll be wearing Diva's stuff

Congrats on getting down to a BMI of 41 Mike - that is impressive.

I much prefer to deal with my weight in terms of the BMI at this stage - seems so less emotion than having to deal with pounds.

Keep up the good work my friend - you've come a long way.

Hey Mike, lad everything is going well. Seems like we ALL are on plateaus! It stinks huh!? I have been on one for about 5 weeks and it is getting on my nerves. I can see the honeymoon is over! I go on March 17 for my 6 month appt. And it is 6 mo. to the day. I had my bloodwork done two weekends ago. It is the first time I have had bloodwork since pre-op. I hope it is all okay. I will not go back to the surgeon until sept. for my yr. It is hard to believe it is already been 6 months. I agree with you that this is all surreal! And how things have changed so much in 6 short months. I am so anxious to see what the next 6 months bring! Keep it up Mike! You are going great!

I'm sending down the Official Word: PLATEAUS SUCK!!!
That's it. Carve it into stone. It is law.

It is so disconcerting to have so much trouble losing the pounds now after it was so easy before. It has really made me re-think my perceptions since before it was disconcerting how easy it was to drop the pounds in the first 4 months. Between Christmas and the week after New Year I lost like 15 pounds! And since then...arg! Just this morning the scale finally moved down a couple of pounds after 3 weeks, and before that 5 pounds after a month. I am definitely having to revise my hoped-for timeline of when I might reach onederland and my first set of goals.

But you know what? At the size I'm at now...I'm pretty freaking happy. Just a year ago, I would have been in shock, tears, etc., just to be size 16 again. It seemed an impossible dream.

So anyway Mike, I'm not trying to hijack your thread - honest! I just saw that some other people were feeling their "golden windows" closing behind them, and thought I would chime in, "ME TOO!" I'm still so impressed with how you're doing, and love to see your numbers moving ever downwards!
