Default 9 Days out...

Well I am 9 days out and feeling good. So far I have had blended up cream of chicken soup, blended cottage cheese, ff pudding. I seam to be ok I guess I tried egg whites hard boiled blended with ff mayo and mustard, but it didnt quite feel right. It didnt hurt or anything I just knew it was sitting there. I went to my sons hockey game this afternoon and managed to sit for the whole thing. I have heard people talk about being tired all the time and I so far havent found this, I find I have the same energy as pre -op, and my body wont allow me to nap, as I always lay down and try, but to no avail so far. So, I am hoping that this continues and nothing changes in my healing.
Thanks so much for everyones thoughts and prayers last week, I truly know God was on my side last Thursday. I will contiunue to update as I "change/morph"

glad to hear things are still well, remember, you had MAJOR surgery, take it from someone that knows, just because you feel good now, DO NOT over do it! I felt great, had energy, but as the lack of nutrition and vitamins go on after a couple of weeks, i tired easy, by that time i had gone back to work was full swing into kids activities/hockey/house/mom/wife/etc you get the drift, and whammo, exhuastion set in, of course i ignored it and kept going, then got hit with major dizziness and fainting - so again, take it easy while you can, store the energy you have now, cuz you may need it later.

thinking of you and wishing you the best

Default Tube and Staples gone

Well today marks day 14. 2 weeks from my surgery. I had my staples and g/tube out today. I was all psyched up for PAIN but everything went "easy" well easier than I had it playing in my head. I still feel really good, and am doing well with the foods I have tried. (soup, jello, pudding, spaghetti sauce, banana, cantelope, grapes, xmas orange) Dont get me wrong I am not eating the whole thiing I am chewing it up and spitting out(sorry to be so graphic) I tried some egg whites that I had hard boiled up mixed up with ff mayo, it felt too heavy, so I tried just super chewing up the egg whites on their own...YUCK, I used to LOVE devilled eggs and now they taste off to me. I also tried some tuna mixed with may, it felt awkward as well so I will leave it for a while. I probably should not even be trying those things but I had a craving for meet, so i sent it all through my food processer and tried. My son had a birthday pizza the night I got out of the hospital and I had been craving it ever since, so I bought some spaghetti sauce and pureed it with some mushrooms and fetta cheese and it seams to have fixed my craving. I am getting in all the protein still struggling with the total water they want I am about 1 1/4 cups off, water just doesnt do it for me, and I am finding the Crystal light singles to be too serrt...WHAT GIVES???lol....

I hope everyone is doing well and all ready for Xmas, thanks once again for everyones support along this journey.......
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Default Im doing fine.....

Well just a quick update, I am now 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I feel really well. I had 2 odd feeling days where i was so very tired, but as soon as I increased my water I was back to feeling good. Today I went out and finished my Christmas shopping, what a relief to be done.
I had a WEEK moment today, I am telling myself Im bad, but, I know it will not be the only mistake I make in this journey. My family was having pizza tonight, and the smell was just too much to resist I had a bite, chewed it up and spit it out) I know its gross, but it sure made the craving go away, AND it wasnt even that good.........
ANYHOW all goes well just waiting for the boys to be out of school for holidays, as we are travelling to Saskatchewan for Christmas.
I hope you and your families are all well this Christmas Season

Default Made it through Christmas

Well I am now 1 month out. I am down 35 lbs. I have only one concern....At Christmas, I was "bad" i ate some cheese, as it is a weekness, and nothing happend. I also had potatoes and gravy, and orange juice. Is it normal for some people to not be affected by certain things??Dont get me wrong, I wasnt eating chocolate or cookies, but cheese is very high in fat, orange juice has alot of natural sugar. It seams everything I eat is fine, except roast beef, I tried it twice now and I guess it is a no for now anyhow....
Anyhow, I hope everyone had a good Christmas, and I wish you all a fantastic New Year.

Angie..I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for cheese. I eat it almost every day. The dietician told me to enjoy my food and if I don't like the low fat stuff, then have an oz. of the real stuff that I like. Its not a forbidden food! Potatoes early out, in very small porportion is fine. I used potato to stack my foods in my pouch..ie: bite of turkey, potato, veggie and repeat.

Your weight loss is great and that you are feeling good and getting in your fluids. Its the time now to learn good eating and you are doing fine. Its the crap that we all need to stay away from!

I would say the OJ, is off limits. High calorie, little benefit...now saying that, small, small amounts every so often is ok. Nohr doesn' like any fruit juice at all, yet the hospital bring full sugar juice 5 times a day! Go figure!

Doing great girl!! Did you book in for a scope at 6 or 8 weeks with Nohr, or are you just gonna play it by ear?
