I remember that sensation oh-so-well! There is nothing else like it! Post-op I had to keep pinching myself to make sure it was FOR REAL!!! I've felt so good, I've often thought it was a fake-surgery... can't be real... but the pounds are coming off and I'm on my way! *PINCH ME!*
enjoy hon... May 12 is just around the corner!!!

OMG! Can it be?!
I went in for my pre-op appointment today - I've lost 17 pounds! I'm all set to go for surgery on the 12th.
But now my mind is playing games with me - if I can do this, why do I need the surgery? Um, because I've been starving myself and doing nothing but liquids to make the weight - and the minute I start eating again it would come back!
My surgeon and I discussed this and we both agree that surgery still makes the most sense.
Woohoo-11 more days!

So excited for you!
It would be so cool if we could just wake up and the surgery could be over and we could just go on and loose the weight with no stress, worries or pain. But in the real world it just can't work that way.
I can promise you that you will be amazed that in a few short months you will be able to go on those rides with your son, easily, be able to tie your shoes in the middle and run marathons.
It is so worth anything you gotta go through to get it
God Bless and Good luck!
Lori

thanks Lori! And Toony, and always my dear, thanks to you too
Lori, your post reminded me of something. I have a young friend who has no clue about the surgery and what it entails. She is very nervous for me to have the surgery, afraid something will happen and that I'll never be able to eat again... but it was cute - she says "So what happens? Will you just wake up a size 2, or does it take a while??

Think Happy Thoughts
Thanks Shan!
So I got a call from my NP today, and she needs me to go do another UA in the morning. My keytones are extremely high, I have some sort of bacteria and red blood cells - the reds I can explain from the monthly timing - but the keytones and bacteria I have no idea. I did do liquids for a few days before my last weigh in and UA, but not just proteins - soups, jellos, etc... so I'm hoping the keytones will be taken care of tomorrow. As for the bacteria, she's going to put me on a strong antibiotic for three days starting in the morning after my UA - as of right now they aren't rescheduling my surgery - I pray they let me go forward on Monday.
