Pulmonary appointment and test went off without a hitch - now the only thing holding me back is the 8 pounds I have to lose by the 18th. I'm working on it, and may even go to the clear liquid diet in a couple of days if need be. I'm determined to make this happen!

I had a great time last night getting to finally meet so many of you local folks. Thanks for making a newb (to meetings anyway) feel so comfortable

I've been sticking to 3 or 4 protein drinks a day - do you think the scale is moving? NOT! I'm so frustrated at this point. I go to see the nutritionist on Friday and I am so afraid she is going to tell me I have to come see her again before she will release me to get my pre-op and surgery dates...

Maybe try having lean protein, veggies & fruit for a couple of days (in post-surgery portions). I've been finding that I lose more when I eat more. Don't starve yourself.

I hope it all works out for you. Hopefully the seep study will be positive for you and be enough for your to get authorization for the surgery.. Please keep us posted...

Tina - I'm beyond that now. All I need to do is lose 8 pounds and I can get my date!

Lynda and Robin - thanks! I'm sure I can do it - I just don't understand the scale not moving. I'm not starving myself - at least I'm not hungry - but I'm wondering if I'm getting enough calories - my nutritionist was worried that I would be eating too little and that my metabolism would slow down - but I figured that with this much to lose a few days like this couldn't hurt.

I'm going to keep at it and we'll just have to see what happens

I can't believe it, but I got the weight off!! Since March 13, I am down 12 pounds by the surgeon's scales, 11 by the nutritionist's - I needed a 10-15 lb loss in order to schedule surgery - so I'm there!!!

They're reviewing my records to make sure I have everything done, have requested a little more info regarding my psych consult (my psych wanted me on anti-depressants, my pcp prescribed but I didn't include that in surgeon's packet). I faxed that info today and just in case it's not enough, I have a follow up appointment with my pcp scheduled for Monday. Once she has that info she will schedule my pre-op and surgery dates, and I have to have another UA done before my pre-op...

I'm soooooo excited!!
