Default No joy!

Well, I just got back from receiving my sleep study results. I guess I should be elated that I am so freakin healthy!

No sleep apnea here, so one more co-morbid to cross off my ever dwindling list. I was upset the first time I got bad news - this time I am okay. I have taken a "whatever happens, happens" attitude at this point. I have started back to the gym - I joined Curves and my daughter will be joining next week as well and we will continue to work out together. I have not completely given up the fight, but am going to start concentrating more on doing it all on my own, once again.....

I had scheduled my psych eval for next week with the hopes that I was going to find out I had an apnea. I am going to keep the appointment and continue with the eval. LOL, maybe she'll tell me I'm crazy after all

Default I'm happy for you!

you know my whole take on this stuff....

I am sorry its'not working out like you planned, I know it's not the answers you wanted to hear but they are answers and that in itself is something.

Way to go on joining curves and choosing a healthier lifestyle. Pretty soon I"m going to be joining you on the bench that's for losers, we just get there a different way!

I joined Weight watchers last week...lol They think I'm nuts, one lady asked if I was joking....sigh... I don't seem to fit in anywhere!

I know it's going to be a struggle to keep this weight off once my tool has been reversed but I'm detirmined(sp?), as much as those on the board that struggle with weight regain after a few years... to maintain thin.

It will be nice I have to admit to eat some more to get back to a healthy weight but I have to practice control... I'll walk that journey with you if you want!

But whatever happens... I"m sorry your sad for today and I hope thigns turn for the better soon!

PS how is your little niece?

Thanks Paige, and y'know the strange thing is - I'm *not* sad today. I kind of feel a relief that I know this chapter may be closing and another one beginning.

BTW, I keep meaning to tell you that I love your new avatar - it's so nice to actually see you!

My niece is doing great - thanks for asking. She is home from the hospital with visiting therapists coming in each week and every other week she has to go back to the City to meet with specialists. She still doesn't have all her muscle control back yet, but she's so young they're not really too concerned about it.

Default Psych done and possible gallbladder problems?

I had my psych eval done last night. I wasn't really nervous about it, and it was a good visit. She is recommending me for surgery - LOL, right now I'm only a "fair candidate" - because she says I'm depressed and wants me to start on meds - I hate to admit it, but she's right - I've known for a while but didn't want to admit it - so after I'm on my meds for a month she will change her recommendation to "excellent candidate." Now just to get tricare to cover me!!!

On that note, I have been having pains and horrible reflux issues - I eat Rolaids like candy, can't eat Tums. I also did a round of Prilosec to no avail. My PCP prescribed a different med that I will pick up tonight and I can't get in to have an ultrasound to see if it's my gallbladder until the 8th. If it is, that's another one of Tricare's co's that they look for so I may not be done yet!

LOL, and to top it off - since I have started working out - I've GAINED weight! I'm watching what I eat and have actually gained 2 pounds in the past week. Go figure!

Default Ultrasound Done

The meds that my PCP put me on seem to be helping some, but I still have issues. I had my abdominal ultrasound this morning - the tech wouldn't tell me anything but said that my doctor would have the results tomorrow and should be contacting me.

More of the wonderful waiting game that we all play so well.

My ultrasound came back normal. I am going to have to ask him to give me some stronger medicine because by mid-afternoon what I'm taking isn't helping.

Other than that, I believe this brings my attempt at having GBS to a close. I've exhausted all of my possible co's and have wound up being a healthy obese person, so I will again work at doing this on my own. On the plus side, I have been going to the gym now regularly for the past four or five weeks, and my daughter is going with me. Although I do watch what I eat I will now begin the dreaded d-word - wait, it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change!?! LOL, we've all heard that one before and I do know that that is what it has to be for this to work.

I'm not bitter, I'm not upset, I am relieved to know the answers so I know which direction I need to go and to focus on now.

I won't necessarily disappear, but I may not be around as much.

i have been gone for months, have been totally busy - can't get into it all now but will soon - promise!

Just wanted to tell everyone don't give up! I have received a referral into the military system. I just got off the phone with the surgeon - he will see me in the next couple of weeks, and thinks I should be in for surgery within the next two months!

I'm still not jumping for joy but this is great news! LOL, need to update my stats too---I am working out, but continue to gain weight...
