Default Renee's Story!

Well, I thought I would use this as my online journal. Sharing my story and my journey through WLS. Today, I had my 3rd appointment with my PCP... I am half way done with the 6 months of supervised diet! It seems as though I just started this process yesterday... It is moving very fast. I met with the surgeon on May 31, and it went very well. The dr. felt there was no reason the insurance co. would not approve my surgery. I am very hopeful! Today I also made all of my pre-op appointments. They will all be finished on Aug. 2nd. After my September PCP visit it will be submitted to the insurance co.... Sometimes it is hard to believe that this is reality!!! It has been a dream for some time. I pray all of my pre-op tests come back okay.

I had to fill out many papers for my appointment with the surgeon. I had to state when my weight became an issue. I put for 18 years. That is when it hit home. I have been overweight to some degree since I was in 4th grade!!! Even the surgeon asked if I meant since I was 18 years old... I WISH! It has been a struggle forever! Mentally I can not think of what could have been or I should have done this long ago. All I can think of is I am doing it now, and my life will change once and for all!

I hope things are moving along smoothly... I will continue to think positive and if I hit a bump in the road, I will deal with it then. No use worrying...

I finally changed my picture... I replaced my puppy with a picture of ME!

Until next time.... Renee

You'll still show us puppy pictures, won't you?

18 years does seem like a long time...I was a chubby baby and tell people that the original baby fat is still under here somewhere...

It's great that things seem to be moving along so well. Keep us posted- I love reading all the online journals here. The differences and similarities amaze me constantly!

Good luck!

Of course you can still see pictures of my puppy.... She is my baby. Her name is Mya. She is two. We just found out that she has hip dysplasia and a bad knee. She may need surgery. I have never uploaded pictures on here before, so I hope I do it correctly.

Wink Awww...

Love your puppy!

I had a 22 page application to fill out before my 1st appointment to see my doctor. In it they wanted me to fill in my dieting history... methods, duration, etc. I've been dieting since I was 15. 41 years ago! Try remembering all the diets for 41 years! I did the best I could and thankfully it was enough to qualify me.

Best of luck to you!

Teri

Teri, I know what you mean. I had to do the same thing. I ended up doing mine on word because it was easier to add stuff I had forgotten. When my Dr. looked at it he said looks like you have tried it all! LOL Everything but surgery!

It is nice that you have your date already. I have to do all of my testing and then it will be submitted to BCBS. Once it is approved I will get my date. I can not wait.. Are you getting excited?! Keep me posted.

For the past few weeks I feel like total crap. It happened when I was finished with work for the year. (I have summers off) Everytime I eat, I am in the bathroom. I can not stand it, its driving me nuts. My stomach hurts like hell and I have not even had the surgery yet! ahhh.... It seems like it may be the flu, but someone said it may be my gallbladdar.. like I need another problem! Whatever the problem is I have not had energy and I could sleep all day. It is so frustrating because I am off and I should be doing stuff, but nope, I feel like hell!!!! And of course I did not say anything to the dr. on Monday because I was feeling good.

Maybe my next entry will be on a happier note...

Renee

Default One down!!!

Today I had my psych eval. It went well! I am "sane" enough to have the surgery!!! YIPEE!!!! This was the one test that I was not worried about. I have been going to the therapist for a while, so he is totally cool with whole thing!

After my appointment I went shopping.... My mom is sick of me in the same clothes and gave me money to get some new stuff. LOL I have not bought clothes in sometime because why waste the money.... I am off for the summer, so I can get by with wearing rags.. But, I broke down and got some stuff. While in Avenue all I could think of was "Soon I will not have to shop in this plus size place any longer"!!!!!! That will be a sweet day.
