Default 10 months already!

Boy does time fly.... This time last year I was doing all my pre-op, and now it has been 10 months since my surgery, and I am 127 pounds lighter... It is surreal!

I got some good news about my back. I went to my chiropractor, and he took some x-rays. My back pain is not arthritis! He feels it is due to the rapid weight loss. The same thing my surgeon said! So, I get adjusted weekly, and I am feeling better. My car accident did not help the matter! I was in more pain from that than I thought. I am plugging along! As for my car, I took it for an estimate with my insurance co. and he said I had minimal damage. I took it to the shop to get repaired, and they would not let me drive it off the lot! They said it was not drivable! LOL Just my luck. The frame was not bent, but the inside was, if that makes sense... So, I have had a rental for the past week and a half with no call from the shop to say my car is near finished. Gotta love it!

Vince had his first weight loss class on Wednesday. I went with him, and it was pretty informative. Oh course there was a "know it all" in the class. We just looked at each other and laughed. There is one in every crowd! lmao Don't ya love it!? I wish they offered this class when I was going through my pre-op. It is pretty informative.

I hope all my TT friends are doing well. I have not had much time to catch up with everyone. I am enjoying every minute of my summer vacation.

Waiting patiently for ONEDERLAND..... Until next time.....

Hi Renee!

You're doing so well! And I'm very glad to hear your back pain isnt arthritis - did they say how long it would take to sort itself out?

I've been off the site for a bit and havent caught up properly yet, so sorry if you've already answered this - does Vince have a surgery date yet?

You go girl! Life is good!

Default AHHHH Back to work!

So hard to believe I start back to work on Wednesday! My summer is officially over. This summer, like all the others, go by too fast! I ran into a co-worker the other day and she told me the kids won't recognize me! Maybe they will think they have a "new" social worker! lol I have a MSW intern this year, so I am looking forward to working with her.

Things are going pretty good here. I have had fun shopping for "school" clothes!

LIFE IS GOOD!

Default Long time.... No TT!!

Boy, do I feel outta the loop on TT! I am back to work and busy as ever! I have an intern this year, we are making a video about inclusion, spec. ed is being audited, etc, etc, etc.... The list goes on! lol And as if I am not busy enough, I took a part time job at the new COACH outlet by my house. I wanted to do something "fun" and take off my Social Work hat for a bit! I will only be working 1 day a week, just enough to get my kick ass discount!

A lot has been going on with Vince and his knee.... AGAIN! We landed in the ER a week or so ago because the knee he had surgery on is giving his problems. The ER basically gave him Vicodin and told him to call the surgeon. We went to the surgeon and did not get the news we wanted! He had an X-ray and it showed a lot of arthritis. The dr. said too much for someone his age. There is also a "pot hole" in his knee. The dr. said there is nothing to fill it with. He even uttered the words "knee replacement"! I could have passed out. Vince is only 34! He did get a Cortisone shot, but is it not doing much help. Vince went for a MRI on Thursday and we have the follow up dr. appt. next Wednesday. I am so scared because I have no idea what is going to happen. It breaks my heart to see Vince in the pain he is in. I feel horrible! The worst part is the waiting and not knowing. I do know that we are also in the hunt for a second opinion. I just want him to be pain-free.

I am down 135 pounds since my surgery. Hard to believe it is going to be a year in a few weeks. This time last year, I was getting ready for the 2 weeks of liquids! lol What a year it has been... Loving every minute of it! I have my 1 yr. appt with the surgeon on Sept. 18. I will be getting blood work here in a week or so. I am hoping all blood work is okay like the 6mo. appt.

Not sure how much time I will have to spend on TT these days, but I will try to check in as much as I can. Thanks to all of those checking in on me! It means a lot!

Until next time......

Thanks for your PM Renee!
Glad you are posting and looking forward to when you'll next have time.
Sorry to hear about Vince. Yes, 2nd opinion sounds like a must! Really hope things pan out for the better for him quickly!
Cheers,
Vim
