Vince has decided to have WLS!!! I am so excited for him! We attended a seminar that is required before starting the 6 month pre-op. He is hoping to have the same surgeon as me, but will have any in the practice. They are all very good. I was kinda shocked of his decision. He had talked about it before, but never followed through with any of the steps. He finally said the other night, " I want to see my kids grow old". We are hoping to start a family in September. I know, before anyone yells, I should be waiting longer post-op..... BUT I have summers off, and I would like to have a child and be off for a few months. It may not even work as planned, but I "think" that is what we are going to try to do. The practice has started a weight loss management class for the 6 mo. pre-op. Some of the other Pittsburghers have posted about it. Well, it is new since I have had my surgery. I plan on attending the classes with him. I figure one can never learn enough about this journey. He should be getting the call this week to set up his first class.

Curves is doing a 30 day study with Avon. I am doing it with my friend from work. I had joined Curves in the past (few years ago) and loved it, but the hours suck! With working 2 jobs it is hard to get there. But, since it is a 30 day study and I am done this week with work for the summer, I figured what the heck! The manager remembered me and is offering me the old rate, if I decide to join again once the study is over. I am going to see what my progress is before I decide. I am still using the Wii Fit.... I love that thing! lol

I am done this coming Thursday with another school year. YAHOO!!!!!!!!! I still work my other job, but it is much less than during the school year. I just can not sit at home... I get bored very easily!

The weight is coming off slowly.. I am not dropping like I once did. I am not really on a plateau either. I am losing 1-3 pounds a week. I am happy with that. I would like to hit my goal at my 1 year anniversary. I know that is NOT realistic, but I am going to try my best! lol

Now, that I will have more time, I hope to be on TT more often. I feel so outta the loop! Looks like everyone is still doing well! Til next time.....

Vince HATES my new avatar! LMAO He said my nose is soooo big. I told him that is what happens when you lose that much weight! I think I posted it before when my dad said my nose looked bigger... Guess a nose job is on my list!

Wow, that is...a lot of news! LOL! First of all, you sound sooooo happy and energetic.

Second of all...planning a family! YAY!! I'm bouncing in my seat, I'm so happy for you. I love living vicariously through all the TTMommas on here. Don't think for a second that I'll forget this, so if come September, or I guess the New Year (1st trimester passed), you post some happy news I'm gonna be all over you with hugs and begging for belly pics, hee hee!

Thirdly, yay for Vince! That's amazing. I'm definitely going to be crossing my fingers for you both that his journey goes as well as yours has so far. Can you imagine if you do end up starting a family around the end of the year? If Vince's weight loss program and pre-op prep goes all in order assuming he starts it all now, he could be, like, 6 months post-op by the time the baby is born. That would be perfect!

Finally, ugh, I hear you about the slower weight loss. I'm just kind of settled in at my average of 2 pounds a week. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted that I'm still losing, of course! But it is definitely work now, and of course it goes easier with exercise. Good luck with Curves! And here's hoping I can keep my motivation to get to the gym going, too.

Congrats to Vince on his big decision! It does just come to one when the time is right!

Well Guys, only 2 days until my surgery. I'm scheduled for an 8 a.m. surgery on Wednesday the 11th. I'm nervous but also very excited to get this done. I've been on my liquid diet for 8 days and it's really not too bad.

Glad everyone is doing so well with their journey!

Wow. I have been reading a few stories from the regulars off and on a lot over the past couple days. I read like 4 today and I was just beat.. I had the tab open to start reading yours and I was like.. "Meh, I'm lazy.. I've read too much today. I'm tired." But it was like I was pulled in after the first few sentences. Really strange but I feel a very strong connection to you. I cried a few times reading. I am so proud of you, and insanely jealous of your 6 month 100 lb weightloss! So much of you is what I see in myself and I just hope that I can be as strong as you have and fight this battle. I'm always happy for the person when I read their story, but for some reason yours has touched me strongly. Maybe because we're around the same age, I've been obese since elementary school as well, have found the love of my life as you have, and I'm also driven to help others in my work. I hope I can be as tough as you and a success like you have!! I want to do this positive and up beat like you have, so I'm gonna just chant to myself.. "less whining, more ass kicking" and thank you for the THINspiration!!

Oh yeah, your nose is not too big LOL. Your face is warm and your eyes are very genuine and caring!! You are stunning, both fat and thin, don't ever let anyone tell you any different!!

Vince got the call from the Dr. today to say he was a good candidate for WLS!!!!! He needs to call to set up his first appointment!! YAHOO!!!!!!!
