Keep us posted.....I think this might be an option for those whose insurance has direct exclusions.
Will your pcp keep tabs on you from here on out? Follow up is so important!

The room (it's actually a suite I guess) is great. Private, hospital bed for me, large sofa for my husband to sleep on, tv, dvd, computer, phone, private bath with shower, A/C, food service for my husband......and outstanding attention to the patient. So far, so good. I left my last post abruptly because a doctor came in, but I am doing well....just nervous about tomorrow!!!

BTW....if I can come here for a tummy tuck and save $10K.....I am all about that! I don't think I will really be doing a lot when I get out of the hospital unless someone is driving me ina car with A/C. It is very hot & humid here so I could see myself passing out.

Sorry, this thread happened twice.

When I leave here, my surgeon will follow up with me and my PCP. My PCP will get my complete records from here and do all of my follow=up tests etc. If there are complications, I can see a surgeon in the States,,,,and that would be treated as a normal visit with insurance. (go figure )

I will definitely keep you all posted. This will be my support network! Reading all of the stories here has helped me tremendously through the whole process. I really want to share my experience with others so they know that there are options available to them. If the tool can save a person's life, they should not be denied any opportunity to try for it. It was a hard decision to come here. When I was on the plan I found myself thinking "What the hell am I doing?" I did a lot of research and really am comfortable with the choice. Thank you all for the well wishes! Just typing this is making me cry like a baby~!!

Oreo.....i don't know either. They have the same equiptment here as they do in the US. It almost angers me that people have to take such measures for their health. There are other Americans here as well for various procedures. Joint replacement and coronary surgery are really big here for Americans. The cost differences are astounding.

If anyone wants to read about the hospital, the web site is www.wockhardthospitals.net

The last thing we want for anyone is failure! I am sure you did a ton of research, one would have to, to do what you are doing. It takes a ton of research just to have the surgery, nevermind flying to another country!
I am sure you will be fine. God bless you and keep you safe. I will be looking to hear the updates from you!

Wow! I will be interested in watching how things go for you. I've heard of this option and it is great that you are willing to share your experiences to let others know that this option is a reality.

It sounds as if they are taking fantastic care of you.
