I just got back from Medicine Hat and was able to visit for a bit with Samm.
She is in good spirits considering that she is experiencing "hell week" She thought that it was very appropriately labeled. She is not in a lot of pain she said just uncomfortable with the drainage tubes and the ng tube in her nose. Complaining of a very dry mouth but that will not change until thursday when her leak test is done.
Her husband is a wonderful support and there to help with anything he can.
She is taking it one day at a time and appreciates the support and friends that she has made here.

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yes I am home, got home today about 2.30pm after a little detour to Calgary to pick up motorbike parts!
I will fill in with more details tomorrow as I am a bit tired now but basically everything went perfectly, I had morphine on monday after surgery and once on Tuesday am. Andy was with me the whole time and was amazing! I don't have much pain so have not taken any tylenol or anything. Didn't sleep well but I think the nurses were taking bets on how many laps of the ward I could possibly get in in a night!! NG tube didn't bother me too badly till Tues eve, but it got taken out yesterday and felt like someone was dragging the garden hose through my head!!! I walked lots with Andy and went outside daily, pretty sure I flashed my foofannella at a few people as spent 4 days commando. JP drain I was dreading that to come out today but it really was nothing. Dr Nohr was very good with me and told me I was an excellent patient, the other 3 that got done monday are still in hospital! YAHHH, early release! Went for abit of a walk tonight and had a nap, feel generally fine, no pain meds needed!!!! 54 staples total on the outside!!
Fantastic to meet you Tawna, although I was probably still a bit outta it and thanks for the gift & Card, thanks to Lisa for calling ( I got your message on my cell the next day) and thanks for checking in with Jeanette (Mum) and thankyou to my wonderful family here at TT for thinking of me, now just move on over on that bench cuz I'm coming.........

Oh my word!!! Just off the phone with Samm, I cannot believe she had surgery...she sounds just wonderful and in great spirits. Getting in liquids, jello, broth without problem. Out walking and everything. OMG!!! I think Nohr kicked her out as she wouldn't let anyone sleep! LOL.
Now seriously, she is doing awesome! WAY WAY better than I did...model patient..so she gets a gold star!
Way to go Samm! Take care, and don't do TOO MUCH.
