Veronica,
I wish I had some magic solution for you but unfortunately this is a side effect of the surgery. Mine started coming out at about 2 1/2 months and just recently had stopped and I am a little over 6 months out. It DOES stop, and you do get new growth but there is nothing to be done for it in the meantime. Sorry. I miss my thick hair but the 121 lbs I've lost more than make up for it. Just remember my friend, this too will pass. Big hugs

Hair Issues
Veronica,
This happens to all of us, mostly women I think during your stage after surgery. It does not last forever and all of your hair will surley not fall out. We all lose about 100 strands of hair daily anyway, however, during this time you will lose more. It is totally normal. There is nothing you can do to stop it, and don't try using rogaine or anything because once you stop using it it will come out worse.. or so my hairdresser said. Just let this process happen for you and it will stop in a few months. Your hair may get thinner during this time but you won't go bald or anything. I did cut my hair, like a lot of people did during this stage, but that choice is up to you and you alone. Don't worry it will stop shortly and you will be relieved I am sure when it does. I have cleaned out my shower drains many times because of this but now it has stopped and my hair never got too bad. I have little sprouts where new hair growth is coming in and so I know I am back to the healing process. It is all completely normal right now for you.. so don't worry your pretty little head off over it..

No worries
Veronica,
Don't even think twice about it. I am sorry you weren't informed of this prior to surgery. I was a late bloomer with the hair fall out and thought that I would be the first person it didn't happen to. Mine didn't start until about 5 months post op and stopped about 8 months post op. Therefore I didn't really think it was going to happen to me.. boy was I suprised. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.. it's all a learning process.. you'll do great. I can understand how scary it would be if you weren't expecting it.

Hey Veronica
Dont chop off your hair... do what I did. Get layers and lots of them. This will help your hair look fuller as well as lighten it up a bit. Good luck honey... trust us, you wont go bald and you are going to notice the thinning more than anybody else. (( HUGS ))

I have to tell you that your not alone. I know it is awful. I know it feels like your going bald because I go through this every single time I brush or wash my hair. I will run my finger's through my hair and clumps come out. I sit there and cry my eye's out because there were only 2 things about myself i've ever loved, my blue eye's and my naturally curly brown hair. I've always held on to the fact that even though I was obese I still had that. I can't give you words of encouragement because the truth is that I feel the same way that you do. The only thing I can say is that I have been told over and over that it will grow back. I hold on to that everytime I clean out the drain and pick out enough to make a wig. I wish you the best.

What about us men?
Hey,
What about us men? I am already at a disadvantage. I had skin cancer on my head and after two months of radiation therepy, I have a permanent bald spot on the back of head. So, I should just shave me darn head. What do you women think about bald men? Actually, do you know if guys have has big an issue with hair loss?
Thanks,
Davey

Bald is Good
I actually think bald is great it dosent matter to me its the man himself that matters..I mean unless ur rocken a mow-hawk or something then i would think twice but I mean something like hair loss from cancer its understandable and a woman shouldnt care anyways what matters is that you are here and well..But as for me Bald Is Great...
