I went to Arizona last weekend to visit my snowbird grandparents in Yuma. Although I'm really trying not beat myself up for the binge I had in Yuma on sugar-free fudge cookies, I am concerned about my lack of self control. The good news is that the binging caused such a sick feeling in my stomach that I no longer crave fudge cookies. The concern is that I couldn't and didn't control the craving. I don't want the binge and resulting sickness to become the control mechanism.
On another note, met with my regular physician the other day. She reviewed my chart and mentioned that when I was in to see her last April, I weighed 269 pounds!!! According to her records, I've lost 61 pounds. She was very proud and happy for me.

I'm so close to the 200 pound mark! I can hardly wait until I reach 199!! That will be such a milestone. Once I'm in the 100s, I'll feel like I'm on the downward side of this incredible weightloss journey. This will all be new territory for me.
Bry and I did the 5k Super Run/Walk. Bry kept us at a good ace, walking just under a 15-minute mile. We both had sore inner thighs and with about 1/2 mile remaining, we started jogging because it felt better to run than walk.
Yeah! 201.5. I can hardly believe my eyes!

I did it!! I finally broke the 200 mark!!!
This week has been a pretty good week. I made it to the gym Monday, Saturday, and today. I plan to go again tomorrow. Seems that the schedule has worked out to be Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Gina introduced me to another protein bar. I've been having difficulty locating it. Premier Odessey Rocky Road. If I don't find it tomorrow, I'll buy another box of Nitro-Tech.
Stopped by Old Navy today. I'm wearing size 18 pants and Women's XL athletic shorts! Yeah!

This has been a kind of bad week. I kind of fell off the wagon so to speak. i got the late-night snackies, and began eating all kinds of wrong things late at night. Monday it was sugar-free icecream, Tuesday was beef jerky (too much salt), Wednesday I had some dumping because I ate too much tomato soup and crackers. Later that night I ate a protein bar and then finished off the crackers. By Thursday and Friday, I was so disgusted with myself as I watched my weight go back to 201. This is exactly the kind of sabotoge I was worried about pre-surgery.
The good news is that I'm bakc on the program. Worked out Friday and Saturday, ate well, and this morning I'm back to 199. I found a good article posted on Dr. C's newsgroup about proper eating for the pouch. It definitely pushed water. So now I'm working on really drinking at least one bottle of water a day, if not two. It also talked about fullness and the distension of the pouch. Kind of made me a little relieved that the "stuffed" feeling I'm having is really the pouch being distended. My goal, however, is not to eat so much at every meal that it feels that way. I don't want to stretch it out!
I've learned that I can tolerate some sugar. I recently found a chewy granola bar that has 10g of sugar. I came across it last weekend when I was out and needed a snack.
Hopefully this next week will be a better one. Oh yeah, went dancing with Bry & Jamey on Friday. Danced my butt off with this guy who picked me out from the crowd. Total blast!!

Happy leap year! Well, I think I've officially dropped below 200. This past week was been pretty good.
Here's to another good week. Hopefully I'll be writing in at under 195 by next Sunday.
Size 16 jeans and slacks.

My goal for this month is to be down to 189 by April 1st.
Food was good this past week. I did splurge on a Starbucks apple-fritter on Friday. That ended up being a painful experience, especially since it really didn't taste as good as I remembered it tasting pre-surgery. It's amazing how differently foods taste after surgery. I really don't miss those good ole bakery items anymore. I hated myself for eating the apple fritter, and wished I would have either cut a bite from it or just had my apple.
You know what... lessons learned! I've lost 63 pounds! I'm not going to beat myself up for a bad decision. I just need to stay focused and stick to my plan.
I'm heading to New York next week. Not quite sure how I'll handle travel food. I'll do my best. It'll be interesting what the scale reads when I get back.

New York was a lot of fun! Did Central Park, ate at Tavern on The Green, went up the Empire State Building, rode the subways and cabs, and saw the Statue of Liberty. Our hotel was right across the street from Ground Zero.
But now I'm back in San Diego and have to re-focus and get back on track. Eating in New York wasn't too bad, but restaurant eating is restaurant eating, and no matter how careful you are, you're still eating processed food.
Next week is a new week.

It's been two weeks since I last wrote. I moved last weekend and the scale was stuck at 190. It was pretty frustrating and caused a posting to the support group. I think it was stress. By Monday, 4/5, the scale read 188.5.
My 6-month check up is Friday 4/16. I need to talk to Kelly about the dizzy spells I've been having.

Had my 6-month check up. Official weigh-in was 190.5. My goal, if I choose to check in again at 9-months, is to be at 160. I must remember to focus and keep my eye on the ball. The honeymoon is over and either I've learned good eating habits, or I'll be among those continuing to battle my weight demons.
Bloodwork indicated I was good and healthy. Cholesterol was 192. Beta karotine was low, but can be fixed with a supplement.
On a fun note... I was told that I eat like a bird!! That was something I never thought would ever be said to me. It was such a great thing to hear!!

This weight thing is so frustrating! I didn't keep to my exercise schedule and I stress ate because I had two papers due last week. My weight kept fluctuating between 187 & 189, then all of a sudden, yesterday it was 184. Go figure!!??!!
I went to the gym yesterday and then bought some frozen yogurt and Lucky Charms. These aren't on my diet plan, but it just seems that when I east what I think I'm supposed to, the weight stalls out. When I eat a variety of what I think is too much, the weight comes off. It's just pure crazines!
EEERRGHH!
