Default I'm feeling particularly pert and skinny today!

>I'm wearing a new pair of leggings with a big shirt. Last year I was in a 30/32 for pants. The new ones are *drum roll please* an 18/20! Wow! >Believe it or not, I am just, just starting to believe this is working! Yup, 84 lbs since surgery, and I am just starting to think this is going to work after all. Yes, my head knows, yes I'm doing (almost) everything right, but after a lifetime of failure, you kind of don't recognize a successful weight loss when you see it! But this one feels different, I feel healthier, not just lighter, it feels as if there is more substance behind it, if you know what I mean. It's kind of hard to explain. Hmmmm...before, when I was dieting I always thought I was walking a tightrope. If I "cheated", I was at the top of a slippery slope. This "tool" has given me some excellent traction. How's that for an explanation? That, plus I am exercising for the first time in my life- quite a difference.
>Yup, still feel good, no problems, thank God! As I said on the first page of this thread, surely most times everything goes well or they would not be doing so many of these procedures. And believe me, I do thank God, because I've seen what some others have had to endure. "There, but for the grace of God, go I"
>Hair loss seems to be slowing down. I had run out of Biotin for a couple weeks, that's when I noticed the hair loss, at the end of those 2 weeks. Got some more, and now I am a believer! I take one every night!
>BTW, my wedding suit came in. It is even prettier than the picture shows! It fits pratically perfectly, which means that in 6 weeks I'll have a little wiggle room. Good thing I have a seamstress on standby!

CeeCee, it is great to hear how well you're doing. Congratulations on all your success. It really give me a lot of encouragement. Can't wait to see pics of the wedding.

I'm curious in case I end up needing it, how much biotin are you taking?

Terrible of me, but I couldn't tell you what the dosage is. At Vitamin World where I get this (and my sub-lingual B12), they only sell it in one dosage. The directions say to take 1 a day, so I take 1 a day. And I would say to start taking it before you need it, perhaps 3 months out?

Default A quick update!

>I still feel good, down 87.6 from surgery. Still going to the gym, though some weeks I only get there 3 or 4 times instead of 5. Well, it's work OT that gets in my way, so at least I'm compensated!
>If this is the worst thing that happens to my wedding plans...had to re-order my invitations, it was my stupid mistake. I forgot to put the name of the church! Kind of important, huh? Fortunately, I ordered from a friend, so I got them at cost. Just getting them in today's mail.
> It's true, it's true! I've lost a half a shoe size! I went to buy my wedding shoes this weekend, and I've gone from an 8WW to a 7 1/2 WW. I haven't worn a 7 1/2 since junior high!
>I'm up for a promotion at work; actually, I'm in the running for 2 different positions. Keep your fingers crossed!
>Starting to develope an itchy something under my belly "apron". I see the surgeon in 10 days, I'll let him know. Right now, it's peroxide and Gold Bond powder! (Never too early to start documenting for the panni, right?)

Default Had my 6 month check up today

>Dr. Sax is pleased, everything is going well, I feel good. I told him my one concern was my calcium. I know calcium is something we gbs patients have to keep an eye on especially. Labor Day weekend I missed 2 doses in a row, and by mid-morning my lips were numb. I got some milk at Dunkin' and I was fine, but I was a bit concerned that my calcium levels got that low that fast, considering I'm menopausal and all. Sooo, some bloodwork for calcium and "Ionized calcium"? Not sure what that means, but I'll wait for the results.
