Oooooh yum.... fillet mignon..... yummmmmmm.... My dad always bbq'd the best ones in Canada. Hubby and I went to buy some steaks today and when we got to the check out, the girl noticed the package was opened, so we didn't get them. *sigh* Glad you enjoyed yours last night, and today too!

Mmmmmm..... a drinky-poo! I think I'll have one tonight. Amazing how your body reacts to alcohol after surgery isn't it?

Oh yeah, final note.... bust out the camera and get a new pic!

*hugs*

NOT ALCOHOL!!! My surgeon said he recommends no alcohol for life.. says he HIGHLY reccomends (going to spell this different everytime.. I'll hit the right spelling eventually).. not drinking for a year. He FORBIDS it for 6 months, said If I cant commit to that.. then to not do it...

Now.. Im not saying you cant... just telling you what I was told.

AND>. Im not sick of your face I Like seeing whos talking.

Hi there!

Just an FYI...not that I want to hog the spotlight, but if you want to start a thread/storyline like this, open up "Personal stories" and click on new thread top left and voila! You're news! You might want to consider dropping the caps off too- makes your posts hard to read, at least for little old ladies like me! As far as the health issues- boy we all have had at least some of them, can't wait to get off my meds too! Good luck!

Talking *crowing sounds*

>Weighed in this morning- down 5.9! I've passed the 50 lb mark! Woo hoo! The total now stands at 51.3. Needless to say, I am mightily pleased!
>Yup, I'm still going to the gym every morning except weekends. It feels like it is starting to become a habit, and that's a good thing!
>Another thing- because I've given myself permission to take weekends off, and I'm not trying to break records, and I've also decided (with the help of others) that a 30 minute workout is okay, it's made it easier to stick with the plan! Now- YOU! Read the prior sentence again! Got it? Remember it, I think this is critical! How often do we set absolute goals for ourselves, idealistic, ambitious goals? Then we fail and crucify ourselves? Think of all those New Year's Resolutions...

>Someone asked me today what sort of stuff I'm eating, so I thought I would update you, gentle reader.
>Breakfast is typically an Atkins Breakfast Bar, or a 2 egg omelette w/one of the eggs a "fake" one. I add a little cheese if I'm feeling spunky- okay, I'm usually feeling spunky! Perhaps every 7 to 10 days I'll indulge and have Cream of Wheat made with 1% milk and a little added powdered milk for protein oomph.
>Lunch can be 1 string cheese with a thingy of natural applesauce. I'll do leftovers too- today it was a slice of asparagus quiche, made partly with "fake" eggs.
>Supper has seen me branching out lately. Last night I was DYING for Italian, so we went out and I had tortellini, a half slice of well-chewed bread dipped in olive oil & roasted garlic. One of our favorite suppers on a Friday night is a "nibbly" supper- I cook some peel & eat shrimp, make a little cocktail sauce (heavy on the horseradish!), cheese, lf Wheat Thins, some oil-cured olives. It's nice, because while we peel shrimp, we compare weeks (who has time to compare a day?), and it takes him as long to eat what he wants as it does me to eat what I can. See?
>I have had a very small amount of fresh/raw veggies in the last couple weeks. Sliced tomatoes are good, well-chewed cukes, lettuce (tender Spring mix). These have all been in very small quantities, 'cuz protein is still #1, but enough to make me feel there is a bit of variety.
>I have also had for a meal a small banana smeared with peanut butter. I never would have considered that a meal 1 year ago!
>I had about 5 grapes today, and 1 large strawberry. A small stomache settled in after the grapes, so we may not repeat those for another few weeks.
>I had about 5 French fries a week or so ago. Why? They weren't that good, but they came on the plate 'cuz I had forgotten to ask them to be left off.
>Beth's Greek Chicken recipe is a regular here too- I'm making it tomorrow, as a matter of fact!
>Baked fish- yum! But too easy to forget to chew 'cuz it's so tender. Yup, can foam on that if you're not careful!
>Cottage cheese continues to work as any meal, and it soothes me after a pissy pouch episode.
>Yes, I am getting in just about 60 ounces of fluid per day. My day starts with a large iced decaf w/milk and Splenda from Dunkin', then it's ice water or Raspberry Ice Crystal Light, a small V-8, maybe an Atkins choc. shake. Still on SF Popsicles too! Very soothing on a pissy pouch day.
>I also make milkshakes w/vanilla protein powder, a few frozen strawberries or lf, sf ice cream, 1% milk, and added powdered milk. Add some SF DaVinci syrup, and I am living high!
>Bottom line- I feel good! I can still count my pissy pouch days on my fingers, I've lost over 50 lbs, and I am really starting to feel the loss! Working out every morning is helping too, and becoming a habit, almost. (Whoever woulda thunk?)

Cool I'm feeling positively svelte!

>I'm now down 55 lbs since surgery! Clothes are fitting soooo well, and some are definitely too big to wear again. My fiance keeps telling me I have curves now, and people have even commented that I'm walking differently. I do feel as if I have a little more bounce in my step- less to lug around now, ya' know?
>Through my life, stress has manifested itself physically in different parts of my body. Once upon a time, my neck would get so tense it was agony. I've clenched my teeth to the point of cracking 2 of them. Now- guess what? Stress goes straight to my pouch! Yup, eating my lunch this afternoon while negative vibes washed over me from a co-worker, I thought I was going to lose it into my wastebasket! I eat at my desk, usually while working. Well, it's about time I smartened up and took a real lunch break- at least one long enough to eat my protein away from bad vibes! Took me long enough to figure this out, huh?
>I can't believe how much I am NOT spending on groceries! Amazing! For starters- junk food costs way more by pound or volume than the health stuff. I used to shop every week, drop approx. $75 to $100, for 2 of us. Right now? I haven't been in 3 weeks! We're living off what is still in the freezer from the old let's-stock-up days, and I can get at least 2 meals from a restaurant leftovers. (More money to clothes shop?)

Congrats on the 55 lbs! That's fab! I can't wait to not have to spend sooooooo much on groceries. Shawn and I went almost two weeks ago and ended up spending $222.91! Yes, you read that right.... and that's just for two people. I want more money for clothes too.

Keep up the awesome work girl.

*hugs*
