Time for a "How do you feel 2 months out?" update!
>First, I feel pretty darn good! Except for those 2 spots on the incision where the tiniest bits of suture poke through and annoy the beejeezus out of me, the incision is very nicely healed. I have a red, somewhat puckery line that is just about 6 inches long. You can tell by looking at it that it will be one of those nice, white scar lines some day
>My pouch...pissy pouch days are actually pretty infrequent for me. What are those select few things that have bothered me, you ask? Well, deli turkey- I've been afraid to try it again since it came up the first time. Spinach has to be very well cooked and chopped- first few times I tried it, no problem! Last 2 times? Up it came! Chicken MUST be tender! Twice I've tried to eat restaurant leftovers where the chicken got dried out in the re-heating. Chewed it well, but up it came!
>Protein...I'm doing okay once I started using an Atkins shake as one of my liquids in the day. Perhaps twice per week I'll make a protein shake with vanilla protein powder, frozen strawberries, and/or sf vanilla ice cream. In front of the tv? Sheer decadence! Still, I think I can do better...
>Exercise....has NEVER called my name! Heck, I discovered the joy of reading in 4th grade, and haven't left the comfy chair since! Well, I've joined a gym, got a great discount through work. (Look into this, especially if you work for a big company- it's worth it for them to keep you healthy!) It is a womens gym, Lady of America. No beautiful people in tight leotards wearing full makeup- even the skinny ones seem to be there to sweat, and don't mind showing it! I have had 2 consults with a trainer- she kept it easy, wrote it all down for me, and always showed awareness of my physical limitations. She has been very encouraging, and said she'll keep me in her brain to think up new exercises especially suitable for me! I have been given enough different things to do on different machines so I won't get bored. Even the treadmill has captivated me; there's something neat about the way it shows how many calories I'm burning, and so on. See? I told you I was new to exercise, never even been on a treadmill before! There are different classes I can take too, at no extra charge, and my trainer pointed out the ones that would work for me. Gee, do you think I might start likeing it?
>So far I am down 42.5 lbs. It's a lot, I know, but I keep thinking it could be more! Yup, we're never quite satisfied! 'Course, now that I've started exercising, that will push things along as well. I have some skinny summer clothes somewhere that will fit beautifully in another 40 lbs or so. I am also aware that I will need to keep a closer eye on my protein too, so I don't screw all this up!
>TMI alert...poop is good. No real troubles except for once. I found something else that will get things moving too: sf Russell Stover chocolates! I only have maybe one a day, and let it melt forever on my tongue. (It takes away the craving when my darling fiance is snacking away!) The downside: I had an extra piece on Easter. Lord have mercy, the flatulence!
>Another TMI alert!...be warned- protein poops and farts are EVIL! They remove paint and rust stains. No sbd from the dog was ever this evil, so don't even try blaming it on him!
>Pain- just a small ache once in a while. No suprise there! After all, I've been slightly re-wired, as well as having had my gallbladder taken out too. When I get a twinge, I just chalk it up to things re-settling. (Yes, I know, if it is ever more than a twinge I'll call the doctor!)
>The clothes...some loose, some very loose. I don't feel like a fool in them yet. It is nice to have a big sweatshirt actually be big, though.
>Did I tell you I talked to a seamstress about my wedding outfit? She said the best, easiest, and cheapest thing was to buy something off the rack one month prior, and she'll alter it. She assured me that if need be she would clear an entire day and alter it in one shot. I told her all about the surgery and she was very impressed, and said she was honored to have a part in it all!
>The positive thing about telling everybody at work about the surgery- they are constantly telling you how fabulous you look! Sometimes people are almost afraid to say something, but them knowing gives them free rein to compliment me as much as they like! I like it- it gives me a really big support group!

CeeCee YOU have a way with words! Your story is written beautifully and the humor you put in almost makes it sound like this surgery is going to be tolerable!
I can't wait to see you in that wedding dress....WooHOoooo that will be a wonderful day. I just want you to know I am glad things are going well at work and everyone is so supportive. It does the mind good to hear real praise, nothing keeps the spirit up like positive re-enforcement.
Do I even mention....the exercise....you go girl...now that the first treadmill experience is behind you...you might be heading towards becoming a GYM RAT! who would have thunk that....You are a mover and a shaker. I bet you are feeling so much better!
I hope things continue to go well and please post a little more often (even if you have to dictate (sp) in the middle of the night! hehehehheeh) I miss you!

Okay, now I have an avatar!
>With a nice cheesy, grin! It's taken me a while, but only because I am technologically challenged. I, personally, LOVE to have my picture taken! I don't think I photograph well, but the ham in me adores the spotlight!
>Okay, I've been to the gym a few times now. I still feel like a goober when I go, but I've discovered that the earlier I go, the fewer people there are- less audience, ya' know? Anyhow, I think I'm going to sign up (and pay- use some refund money!) for a few more sessions with my trainer. I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly, (who the heck can remember all they tell you in the first introductory sessions?), and I want to make sure I am getting the most out of my workout. I really only have time for a 30 minute workout in the morning, so I want to get the most out of it. Also, I figure 30 minutes five times a week is 100% more than what I was doing before surgery!

Well, this may not be good...
>One- I'm sick of my face already! I either need to stop posting so much so my face isn't spread around like fertilizer, or I need a new avatar! Serves me right!
>Two- Went to a steakhouse Thursday night. The bad/good news: I can eat the most expensive thing on the menu- and it's filet mignon! Tasted sooooooo good! A positive note- even though it was only a 7 oz filet, I still brought half of it home. Expensive meal, but it fed me twice!
>>Side note: I never would have thought of ordering it pre-surgery; it wasn't big enough. I always went for the slab of prime rib.
>Three- I found out last night, sitting on the deck for cocktails for the first time this Spring- I can drink a White Russian. I know, empty calories, but it was a weak one, made with 1% milk. I probably wasn't being as wicked as I thought I was,and it made me feel like a grown-up. And yes, one was plenty. One weak drink gave me the kick of two Black Russians, never mind White Russians! Now-I'll need an extra walk or something today to compensate...
