Jen thanks for popping in with an update. You have been missed!!!!!!!

Hope that your health issues get resolved so you can get back to enjoying everything a little more.

Nothing wrong with telling it like it is. Some people need to hear that. It might not do any good but at least it was said.

You look incredible...........love the polka dot swimsuit. The black dress is great too.

Take care of you Jen!!!!

Done with the endoscopy. Have to say.. those hurt like crazy! They give you drugs.. but it wasnt enough to totally keep me out. They kept telling me to not talk with the tube in my throat, I was just trying to tell them that it hurt. And I had to keep burping... I had NO idea they pumped you full of gas to do it. Afterwards... it took me quite a bit to get the rest of the gas out. that was the only pianful part after.

No ulcer found. They think its severe GERD I guess... dunno yet. CT tomorrow. then back to the surgeon for the results of them all.

They did mention that the anistomosis (sp... ) where the two limbs come back together is larger than normal. (Need to find out HOW that happens).

They also said my esophogas looked suspicious for Barrett's disease.. which after doing some reading doesnt sound real serious. So Good news on the scope.. I really expected for them to find an ulcer. Altho, I almost wish it had been an ulcer... easy fix, and a real reason ya know?

So.. I am off to nap. Cuz.. Im allowed today LOL.. catch ya's soon

jen, the enlarged stoma is one of the problems I have...of course my surgeon said it's large enough to drive a truck through....lol

There are several ways to fix this problem most of them are painful. The newest one is called a stomaphyx and is still experimental here in the US although there is a doc in Ohio that has done a lot of them. As to what causes it...my current surgeon said coudl be becasue teh stoma was not made small enough to start with... of course my operting surgeon sadi its' absoltuely nothing to do with that....

part of the problem with enlarged stomas is they dont' allow for the pouch to grow/expand over time and that causes the rapid gastric empty process which brings on..blah blah blah

My enlarged stoma is the cause of extreme dumping syndrome, gas like crazy and the hypoglycemia...most likely.

I also had an issue with GERd, althought Janie/suzy was the queen of that one.

I take prevacid and pepcid twice daily, I'm very careful how I eat..the right combinations and that seems to keep things at least partially under control.

Good luck honey and I hope you feel better soon

I am sure that there wont be a surgeon in the world that would agree that they messed up! Altho, at this point, I really dont know what the big stoma holds in store for my future. I do not have dumping syndrome... Nothing causes me to dump. Or at least it hasnt yet. As far as the rapid emptying.. Sometimes I can feel it just going through... depends on what I eat. Squishy foods like cream of wheat and yogurt give me the full feeling.. where meatballs or anything solid doesnt.. isnt that odd? I love squishy foods *Laughs*. I will be curious to see what the surgeon has to say about the enlarged stoma. I wonder if its because they allowed me to take pills at 2 days post op? I hope I didnt screw myself up.

Made it through the CT Scan today.. wish they gave results in the same day.. I'm going to go nap now... I am exhausted...

Thanks guys!
