I spend alot of time with my foot in my mouth.. however, that isnt what causes the pain..

I get wicked ingrown toenails.. well.. I used to NO MORE.. woohoo..

LOL the open toed shoes.. funny! I CAN however still wear them, no one would know if I didnt tell them.. and mostly.. I dont tell (as opposed to the GBS)... however, I guess I just felt like sharing here

I am sorry Josh left.. but I hope you are enjoying your naps

Default Aaaah, tonails!

I had the nail on my right large toe removed perhaps 8 or 10 yrs ago. It wasn't supposed to grow back, but it did. I call it my mutant toe -it grows thick and kind of sideways. When my nail tech files it and paints it, you can't tell its a mutant! Now I'm nursing another toe- the nail curls under, and I have been stuffing a bit of cotton under it every morning to try and encourage proper growth. I feel your pain!
I've always said I had Flintstone feet anyhow...

EWWWWWWW I hate my big toe nails! They first started by becoming engrown ALL the time and I would sit with tears streaming down my face while "I" dug it out. I have gotten James to dig it out before and that was with me lying on the bed with fists full of pillows covers or whatever I could grab onto and squeeze and screaming this deep-throated scream while he did it. I just can't stand it! Then, when I was so heavy I couldnt even see my toes, I painted them and left it on for a while and didn't realize I was getting a fungus under the left one! YUCK! Well, I ended up cutting it back and digging under it SO much that I totally seperated my toe nail from the nail bed and I ended up cutting almost the complete nail off! Yes, I did this myself. Guess what? The fungus went away and the new nail grew out and it's fine now! So.......the OTHER one started getting the fungus! (sigh) So, I caught it early since I can see my toes and touch them now! I took care of it early, so no more fungus for me wittle toes! I would do the same thing Jen did and paint the nailbed and it looked just like I had a toenail when I cut that one off. LOL Amy, you would love to have watched me working on my toenails. I was NOT going to the doc and letting him cut it out because I used to assist with this procedure when I worked at a walk-in emergency clinic and would CRINGE when the doc stuck the needles in the toe to deaden it and then would just slice the side of the toe open with no remorse! LOL After all, it was dead and wouldn't wake up til the patient was gone already. LOL Jen, I can't believe you are even able to walk on it!

CeeCee.. you have insurance and are leaving it there? Argh. not me.. those puppies are staying GONE GONE GONE.. not taking the chance LOL..

Trina.. they dont cut anything.. they just pry it up.. you'd be surprised at how little tissue actually connects it to the toe.. I can say.. its not as sore to the touch as the ingrown was.. so..I'm good.

lol.. I'm actually very entertained at the conversation my toenail started! *grins*

Sis.. no.. you know where I was now.. I talked to you way before I read your posts.. I will not end up in the ER I promise.. I just hadnt told you I was going to be out of reach ... lol.. wont happen again ok? After today, you will know I have my cell, cuz I'm back at work! btw.. the chili was a hit.. Tillie loved it!

So Jen,
How was your first day back at work? I see you're still up, fairly late your time...did you grab a nap when you got home, or are you a night owl normally?

I zonked for like 4 hours when I got home LOL... first day back tired me out.. and I'm having a pulling feeling on my pouch.. not sure if thats a coincidence or not.. I'm hoping a good nights sleep eases it up some. If its not gone by morning, I'll be calling my surgeons office *groans*.. havent had any pain at all since like day 4.. so I'm being a big baby about it.. mostly when I stretch.. it feels like it is disconnected? but It cant be, because I can still eat and drink lol..

the worst part is.. I drank about half what I normally do when I'm home.. gotta figure out a good way to get the fluids in while at work..

Thanks for asking I'm glad to be back for sure!

Yep, keep something good to drink with you at all times, even during the drive. I think that pulling thing, if it's on your left side, near the belly button..that's where they did the big stuff, and it takes awhile to heal. Even at a year out, my incisions itch sometimes, but I can't figure out if that's just because I have tender skin. Glad it went well. Beats being bored at home.

thats for sure..

the pulling isnt on my left side anymore. its directly associated with my pouch.. if I touch that area, its pretty sore too... *groans*.. PERFECT timing.. wont make me happy if something is goin on there!
