I go see the nurse March 15th.. dont see the Dietician unless I am not losing weight.. I have the stress test Feb 28th, and the support group meets again on March 12th. I hope its over in the allotted hour this time instead of 2.5 *groans* because the support group is NOTHING like this.. its all one person whining.. and another doing the "look at me" thing... 12 people there, 10 of us were there because "we had to be" either to have the surgery, or to get released to work!

I'm on permanent denial I suppose, Jen. Now that I've lost so much and my BMI has dropped, I'm sure the doc would NOT recommend that I have the surgery.

Basically, I proved the insurance company's point that I could do it on my own...or at least partially (dammit!). This certainly wasn't how I wanted it to work out, but you play the cards you're dealt, ya know?

We all know that it's highly unlikely that I will be able to keep the weight off. Haven't we all been on this roller coaster a bazillion times? But I'm still pretty motivated, and after a year of changed eating habits and exercise, I'm hoping that I have made permanent changes in my head. Only time will tell....

In the mean time, keep working those rules. They really do help and you'll be healthier before the surgery, too.

Default Stress Test

Well.. I survived my stress test this morning. The nurse that checked me in and got me ready was AWESOME... She was also thinking of GBP.. so I gave her this sites addy, and told her to read about it. She explained that a stress test isnt a test of how much stress your heart can take before it gives out (what I thought we were testing).. Its a test of how well your heart can supply you with Oxygen when its working hard. I made it 6.5 minutes & up to level 3 before I panicked. I didnt panic because I didnt think my heart was going to survive. I panicked because I thought I was going to fly off the treadmill.. it was a little fast for me! 2.5 at an elevation of I think 13.. I was fine.. whatever they bumped me up to scared the bejeepers out of me!

The cardiologist said I did fine. That I was in the "fair" category of excercise tolerance for my age group. WOW.. I was pleased with that.. because not everyone in my age group weighs 361 pounds lol. He also said that I did get up high enough for it to count and that everything looked fantastic! Wooot.. I PASSED! He said my surgeon will have the results within the week...

*takes a deep breath* It is so nice to be one step closer!

I am soooooooooo glad that is over... I called to schedule my psyche eval.. but I have to wait for a call back. I have to call and give some other people my insurance billing information! Strange.

Anyway.. guess I am heading into work now.. Just thought I'd check one more thing off my list of to-do's!

Congratulations Jen! I know you were worried about the stress test- but I almost choked on my coffee when you mentioned flying off the treadmill!
One step closer, my dear! Yay!
