Sorry that it did come down to having to have the egd. I hope things go well for you on Friday and that you find some answers. Keep us posted.

By the way congratulations. Only 2 more to go! Woo Hoo!

Paige and Sharon, thank you for your thoughts. I really appreciate them. So good to see you again, Paige. Sharon and I were just talking about you the other day wondering how things were going for you?

Sharon, I have never had an EGD so a wee bit anxious. I was just scared about maybe being a wee bit too awake. Thankfully one of the nurses I work with was able to set my mind at ease on that one. She used to work Endoscopy so she frequently assisted Dr Baker with the EGDs. I asked her if he was good at making sure you were good and out she just laughed and said, "Oh, yeah....he is very free with giving a lot of meds." So that has taken my stress anxiety down a wee bit.

I'm just ready to move forward to the next step and hopefully there will be some kind of answer. If not I'm sure it will be more tests next week. Thankfully the pain is controlled with very few meds except I did break down last night and take 2 Vicodan when I got home from work. Seems stress makes it worse and work was pretty high stress again last night. *sigh* Well only 1 more night of work and then I am off for the rest of the week.

Beth, I'm doing..... that's about the only update on me.

On the EDG, I've had multiple and all of them were easy. loved the meds, dont' remember a thing!

Again hoping they find something... so often it seems everythign is "fine' and they have no idea why you are feeling the pain.

I'll be pryaing for you...remind me the day before!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and words, Tawna. You are such a sweetheart of a lady!

Oh Paige...I was hoping you would have news for me about having the Stomafyx or something being done. Why is your doctor waiting on that?

The only reason I was a wee bit concerned about the EGD is the last Colonoscopy I had I was actually quite awake for. I really wasn't uncomfortable but I knew exactly what was going on the entire time. The thought of that scope going into my throat doesn't sound too pleasant if I'm not totally out. I've been assured that Dr Baker is very free with the drugs, so I should be nice and out.

Yeah, I hope he does find something but I'm not totally convinced this is ulcer pain so we may be hunting for a while. I'm making a list of things I want him to check out. *L* Bet these docs loving getting nurses as patients. *L*

I'll send you off a reminder on Friday before I go in. I'm not scheduled until 4pm EST so it will be a bit later. Thanks for your thoughts, Paige....I hope you know that mine are often with you.

Oh, btw...did Sharon tell you that she and I are going to meet in just a few weeks?

Default Wow, what a ride!

These past 2 weeks since my EGD have felt like an eternity but it has also almost felt like I've been brought full circle....back under my surgeon's capable hands once again, to have a really inflammed gallbladder removed and in another way coming to the end of a journey....

.....it's been 2 years, 4 months and 15 days since I was in the OR placing my life in the hands of my surgeon....never daring to dream that I would reach the day where I would get on the scale and see my goal....

I sit here tonight without words....only the deep feeling of truly being blessed. I've been given a gift that in many ways I spent my life not believing that I deserved...traveling a journey that even to this day I sometimes wonder if it is real....

.....humbled by all I have been given....the gift of life...

.........I really don't know how to say, thank you....there are no words, only tears of joy.....

How wonderful for you, Beth! Such a journey, and what a golden city you now have the keys to! The health, the ease of movement, the absence of joint pain, all of these are yours!

I'm so pleased for you and PROUD! I thank you for bringing your struggles and conquests here to the board in order to show us just how it's done. Your quiet strength imbues me with the fortitude to shake my self off, stand up, and try to be the lady that Beth is. You are a total lady, and I want to be you when I grow up!
Feelin' the love,
Donna

Nyn, Donna...thank you so much. I really struggle with knowing how to say "thank you"....but thanks....your comments touch me and I truly am humbled by them... All I really can say, is that I feel so VERY blessed to be an inspiration to those on this forum. I feel it is a gift I have been given, this journey. It is a gift I feel very undeserving to have received but it is a gift that I accept with a grateful heart...it really is.
