I'm really hoping I can keep up with at least 10 lbs a month. I'm not sure if I'm hoping for too much. I'm really just waiting for that slow down they talk about after the 6 months. Thankfully I haven't seen it yet.

Oh sweet Beth....the slow down is likely coming your way! But the good news is that the smaller you get the more noticeable a few lbs are. At my heaviest I had to lose 20-30 lbs before anyone asked at all......now I drop 5-7 and everyone notices and I can even change a jeans size sometimes. I had a little over 100 to lose, and only lost more then 10 in the first 2 months......but if you just keep working it out, it DOES all come off. You are doing fantastic...I am so proud of your success. I am still waiting to hear about your job so I can live vicariously.

Oh, Marty, yes I know that it will more than likely come probably sooner than later. But for now I am just thrilled. My sizes seem to be changing even faster even though the amount of weight coming off has been pretty steady. I was thrilled the other day to get into a size 18 pants and an XL top. I really don't remember the last time I was in those sizes. It's still the Women's size but I am kissing getting into clothes from a regular store very soon!! My goal really is to be able to get down to onederland by Christmas. That would thrill me beyond words!
So far no news about the job. It's still posted on the site. DH says he would suspect they would leave it posted at least 2 weeks (that will be this Friday). I'm holding my breath to find out if I will at least get an interview. It kind of worries me because the application just goes through a Human Resources not my surgeon's office at this time. MMPC is a large private health organization so I have to get past that hurdle first. I will let you all know the minute I hear anything at all.

You have every right to be thrilled with your progess.....and even when it slows.....you should still be thrilled. As long as it's still coming off, then it's time to celebrate!! And just wait til you can go in any store and buy any outfit.....Oh my.....it's so hard, but so exciting! Then comes the day you actually have to move to the "other end" of the rack.......I swear it's amazing. It's an aphrodisiac to me.
We'll be waiting to hear about the job. What an exciting journey you are having. I love it.

Beth, my podmate...I am just like you....loosing about 10lbs a month except for August and keep my fingers crossed that it continues...I still have 29lbs to go, so my I hope to make it by Christmas, if not by the end of January, our anniversary.
Its SO MUCH harder now to loose the weight......have to increase the exercise and the food...well I never know if I should increase the quantity or decrease...I don't think I could go much less and succeed. I keep to the 3 meals a day, hungry or not.
I can't put into words how nice it has been to go through this journey with you. You are very special to me and so helpful. You have done SO AMAZING....proud of you!

Marty, I can't wait to buy regular clothes! You know there hasn't been that many times in my life that I was able to do that. When I was a child it was almost impossible to find plus size children's clothes so my mother made all of my clothes. I still remember the first "bought" dress. I was in 5th grade. I always carried my weight in my thighs and buttocks. I had a terrible time finding pants! I honestly don't remember ever being below a 16.
Thank you so much for all of the support you have shown me so far on this journey. I hope you know how much I appreciate it.

Lisa, your words have really touched me. It has been really special to me to share this journey with you. I found this forum just 3 days before my surgery and I saw that you and I were to share surgery dates. I have watched your journey from day one, cheering you on. You have done SO well yourself and being able to compare my journey with yours has been a major source of support for me.
Be proud of yourself!! I can't wait to celebrate your goal with you!! I can easily see you reaching goal by our one year anniversary. You will be crossing that finish line before me, I'm sure of it but you better be sticking around to cheer me to the finish line whenever that day may come. 64 lbs still seems like a long way off for me but when I think that I have lost 141 lbs in 8 months? Well you know, then I believe I will reach my goal along with you reaching yours!
Know I'm here for you in whatever way I can be and that I am very proud of you too!

I'm only obese!!
I got on the scale tonight at my support group meeting and was thrilled that I was down to 212 lbs!! I know most people don't celebrate the fact that they are obese but for me this was rather big news! This is the lowest weight that I have been in almost 24 years!!! I started this journey as "severely morbidly obese" so the fact that I am just obese....well, it gives me a reason to celebrate!

I got an interview!!
I am so excited today, I feel I could burst!! You have no idea how much I want this job! It is a job as an RN in my Bariatric Surgeon's office. I feel so strongly that this is where I belong. I really think I have something to offer this patient population since I am also one of them.

Oh, how exciting....when is your interview? If you find out anything in the next week or so, can you PM it to me? I probably won't feel up to sifting through new posts, but I don't want to miss the news!! I am really hoping you get it....and I want to be you when I grow up.

*L* Marty, you're so funny!!
My interview isn't until next Monday the 16th at 2pm. So it won't be this week. This is just the first interview and it is with the Human Resources department person. I suspect they weed through the interviews and send on the ones they are most interested in on to the surgeon's office. I promise to let you know as soon as I know anything! I just am really so excited about this possibility. Too bad you don't live around here. My Dr has several Medical Social Workers that work there. You know, you might be able to do something with that Psych. degree yet. *G*
