Default Plastic Surgery call

Well my husband took a call from my plastic surgeon's office today but I wasn't home. They wouldn't tell him anything just to have me call back. I didn't find out about the call until after office hours. In between running to pick up a daughter who passed out at work and picking up my husband who's car broke down, (Just not the best day) I wasn't able to call them back.

*sighs*

Guess it will have to wait until Monday now. Wouldn't you know, it HAD to be the weekend!! I'm going to be a bundle of nerves all weekend waiting to hear what they have to say.

I'll let all of you know when I know.

Are you just waiting to see how much it is going to cost? My surgeon sent me an estimate that assumes a pannulectomy is covered. I dont' think he even applies for the breats lift. Anway - I'm looking at 13K I'm afraid - WITH the insurance paying for the panni.

Hope you hear soon. Sounds like your amount will be better than mine at least!!

Have a good weekend.

Gina, I'm waiting to see if the insurance company will cover anything and if so, how much they will cover. My plastic surgeon applied for the pannulectomy, abdominoplasty and the breast lift. He didn't hold out much hope for the breast lift being covered but he said my insurance company is really hard to read. So we shall see.

Once we know what the insurance will be covering, then I will be having another appointment with him to discuss exactly what he will be doing and setting a date for the surgery. I honestly am not thinking of having it done until the end of July. I just don't have enough time to use for medical leave, right now. I'm only part time and don't have short term disability. Also, my clinical manager doesn't want me off in June. There are too many nurses who are taking vacation in June plus the summer is always a really busy time for us, on the unit.

I'm just anxious to know exactly what will be coming down the line and how much money I may need in order to get done what I would like done. I sure hope it isn't 13K!!! That would pretty much squash any dreams I may have. OUCH!! That is painful!

Oh Carrie, my dear...here I thought you were all tucked into bed sleeping.

Yeah, I'm glad it isn't Memorial Day weekend. That would be a really long weekend of waiting! The day was a wee bit stressful and I have to admit I was in a bit of a foul mood earlier this evening.

This waiting sure sucks doesn't it? I'll let you know what I hear on Monday. Hopefully I can get a chance to talk with someone before I head off to work for the evening. If not I'll be waiting for Tuesday right along with you.

Default Update on Plastic Surgery

Well I spoke with my plastic surgeon's office. They heard from the insurance company in regards to me getting plastic surgery coverage. Still no decision, they are apparently requesting more records to be sent. They apparently need records from my pcp. That's not all bad. Actually it should make my case stronger since I've been calling his office every month to update him about rashes, back pain and any other problems that may be due to my large panni area and sagging breasts. So the wait continues. At least I know the insurance company is working on it.

So, that's the news.

Ah.....I was hoping you had an answer today....how nerve racking...I remember waiting and waiting and more waiting. In the end, I was able to get the abdominoplasty covered with the hernia repairs, but not the skin removal and extra ER time...it was worth it though.

I hope you get your answer soon.....
