Update #2
Ok.. so I'm sitting here.. sipping my last protein drink of the day, and my phone rings.. Its an alberta call..so I'm thinking.. please dont let it be Carries mom with any bad news.... Please just let it be carrie..
And it was... She honest to God sounds better than she has in a month. Probably has a lot to do with the fluid... but.. She says she hasnt talked to the doctor yet.. and that as far as she knew he never called anyone.. but after reading Michaels post, I wonder if he called there?
Anyway.. She said the surgical pain she has is in the exact same spot she had the wicked pain from the gall bladder. So she is convinced that since its in the same spot.. that must have been it. She has been up walking (mostly to go to the bathroom.. but still.. shes been up). She was on fentanyl right after surgery, and is now on demerol for pain control, and says she doesnt need/want it as much as they think she should have it.. (thats my carrie!.. stubborn about pain meds). She is sipping water.. and hasnt any pouch pain when she sips.. BUT.. she only has had 4 sips.. but we are hoping that that went away too..
Her girls have been in to see her with her MIL.. and her mom was there..
I am SOOOOOOOOOOO relieved after hearing her voice.. Shes a strong one.
She also said.. "tell everyone on the board thanks for the well wishes and prayers"...
More to follow I am sure

So Glad - Thank You!
Jen & Duckie, I'm so glad to hear that you were able to talk to Carrie - thank you for keeping us informed.
Carrie, I hope you are getting better quickly and that this will finally be the solution you've searched for, for so long and after such a battle. You are in my thoughts and prayers, as well as the thoughts and prayers of MANY other people. We miss you and want you back safe and sound, sharing your strength, wisdom, and kindness with all of us - you are much loved and appreciated! When you are able to read this thread, I hope you are home and doing well!

Carrie Sweetie,
While "just" a gall bladder wasn't quite what I expected, I fervently hope that rascal was the problem and you will now enjoy the pleasure of eating and drinking. You need to get your weight up, your strength up, and definitely your spirits up! All of us are pulling for you for all it's worth. I know you must feel the presence of enormous healing energy around you--it is those of us who love you and desperately want you to feel better. Rest all you can, since you don't seem to know that word in the outside world. Take the pain meds so your body can stand down from the red alert status it's been in for the last 7 months. Let Norhr know that he can't just blow you off anymore--it is simply not acceptable.
I'll call you in a day or two once some of the anesthesia is out of your system and you aren't so bleary from the surgery and meds. Godspeed, dear Carrie, I pray this fixes you. A nonrefundable chunk of my heart is up with you, even though I am terrible at Canadian geography and have no idea where you physically are. My heart knows the way, though....

Carrie, this post was one of the first I checked when we rolled in from our time away. I had been thinking about you often during the day. So glad to hear the surgery went well and that your gallbladder is out. I pray this will be the answer to all of the pain you have been having. It's way past time for you to be healthy and enjoying life to the fullest. Continued thoughts and prayers are heading your way. Please get your rest, take the pain meds you need and get off to a really good step on your way back to health.
Love ya, you sweet thing!
