i hope you get it all figured out, my docs here are saying if it was an obstruction of any kind i would be so sick or by now probably dead as it has gone on so long
i started having what i think is gallbladder "attacks" since february, then beginning of april i began struggling with food/water, food was easier than water, it caused pouch pain and gallbladder attack like pains (still does) that is why farries scoped me, but found nothing wrong with my pouch, he actually complimented my surgeon on how "perfect" my pouch looked.
i am keeping at this, tests, my doc, farries and nohr
thank you for the info though, i will keep this in mind

Not to push the internal hernia (IH) on you.. I hope it's not it that but.... Terri had basically the same symptoms as you over time and her doctor didn't "expect" to actually find the IH. But when he got in there that's what happened and he wouldn't have ever found it by tests, she did everythign and nothing showed up but the extreme pain was what finally caused them to just go in. She was very hesitant to have "exploratory" surgery but she finally said okay and know is so glad. So if ultimately that is their solution please consider it!
My sister had the gallbladder thing, she would get this random attacks, pain so extreme she had to stop driving and call her husband to come pick her up so i know that has to be awful for you......
I spoke with my surgeon in LA yesterday and basically he said since I don't have a gallbladder anymore to cause the pain symptoms, it is either a partial obstruction of some type or IH... I start tests for that next Wednesday when I go down there.
Just wanted you to know I think about you daily and send good though vibes your way! Hoping they find what is causing your pain and can do somethign about it because it's definately not normal!
Last night I mentioned you to our bible study group and Amy is from Canada and when she heard your story she was like "don't even get me started on the health care system" Her mom waited 2 years for hip surgery. She also explained why it woudl be a bad idea for you to come to the states... I guess many surgeons refuse to do any follow-up care if you had any surgical work done outside of Canada...? Her mom considered coming here to do the hip thing but the surgeons there told her if she did they wouldn't see her anymore... sad.

I beg to differ.. coming to the states is not a bad idea.. if she doesnt get answers there, she is coming here, period. If she needs follow up care, she'll just have to move here... simple.

Totally not trying to step on your toes girlfriend! it was just explained to me last night how difficult it is to get care there but even more so how stubborn they can be if you have surgery out of country.
I love our system and hope she can make it here as soon as possible, if they won't get off their proverbial A** and get this poor girl some help!
Just a mile from my place is UC Davis medical center, one of the top in the country and my door is open at anytime... we have a whole apartment downstairs that she is welcome too on a moments notice! Plus care at UC Davis is free if you do not have insurance...
How scary that she is here on vacation and oooops suddenly has major medical issues!...wink wink.
Our Austrailian exchange student spent 3 nights in the hospital and it ended up costing his parents $17.00 dollars... not a bad deal.
Of course if she came she'd most likely go closer to you but the offer is open Carrie if you ever want to use it.

Carrie, so glad to see a post from you. I've been thinking about you a lot. You know how I feel about all of this sweetie, so I won't rehash it. All I want for you is answers...whatever you have to do to get those.

Yes and no... The nausea seems to have decreased significantly, the gas is still hanging in there and the runs are sporadic now... the pain is still daily but reduced to more of a "nagging" feeling. It's better, able to get in over 1200 cals a day now and all my 64 oz of fluid so that's a good thing.
Today is hubby's surgery so I"m a bundle of nerves and it's making my stomach worse so I'm trying to calm down and remember that I'm a rarity when it comes to complications and he is going ot do wonderful just like squishy and Pat and whitney and hundreds of others on this board.....
how about you..... I know you are still waiting on a date but hows the pain? Are you getting enough fluids or going in to be topped off? Can you eat better yet? Has the doctors office caled and said anything? at the riskof sounding like a broken record... can you kick some ass now and take names later?
I think about you often hoping it's tolerable and you are hanging in there. I hate pain and nausea so much and I know it can't be fun for you....
