thank you my duckie - its rough, not only on me but all of you, so sorry to stress yous out

i am having a crappy night, its taking its toll on me thats for sure, but know what doc said? people live with gallbladder pain for years and some never get it removed as it doesnt always cause complications - but then did say something along the lines of can cause complications and that since i have the HIDA scan on tuesday hopefully i will get answers then....maybe i am just being a whimp? but that is not like me, i can take alot of crap usually, it just makes me dumbfounded that farries acted like it was so urgent to get this scan and that it has taken this long and in the mean time i get the run around just to stay hydrated - i dont get it - and now im whinning i will quit now, thanks for listening

wub you

Carrie, considering the amount of pain you have been in, for the length of time, it has been, you are allowed a bit of "wimpiness". It's YOUR RIGHT! So, wimp away...believe me, we all understand it and consider it totally justified!

I sure hope you can get some good sleep tonight.

What a night, first Samm on the phone, next Carrie. Its so hard to express pain via a keyboard, but let me tell you...Carrie is hurting big time. It makes me SO mad. She is one tough cookie and totally amazing to be hanging on through this. I really don't think I could do it like she is. I want to fix it for her and I can't ....very very tough. I wish I was closer and I would be marching into that hospital and making demands....and if they couldn't do it, I would be hooking that girl up to an IV...she needs fluids.

Carrie, we love you and are here for you...we can't fix it, but we do have ears and sending our love your way sweetie...remember what I said, tell that damn ER to phone me and I will tell them what you need !

Take care sweetie and I am personally damn proud of you for being so strong.

Next time you are in a real bad way and have to go in to the ER for topping off your fuels, could they maybe give you something potent to relieve the ill feelings, like headache, spaciness,,freakin' pain, etc? A reward for withstanding hours in a waiting room, hoping no one gets in an accident or had a heart attack to jump ahead in line, I think is absolutely called for. They need to give you an iv with a banana bag and a good sized hit of dilaudid and or morphine, or at least some toridol. There is no excuse for them not getting moving on providing some serious analgesia. Some docs are stingier than others, but I think if you pushed (or even ask--Carrie, you are so stoic!) they would be more than willing to advance your pain control to the next level. Take it; they'll give it and then you surrender to the chemistry. When pain, stress, and fear start gaining power it's time to line up a replacement parent and give over to the pain. Talk to a friend or family member, and ask them to take as many of your kids that you need to not worry about for a day or two, and you just surrender to the drugs. Take just enough to induce body numbness and if anything changes, make a new plan based on what it feels like. Give your body a chance to recharge and heal while you sleep. Stay hydrating--you do not want to get dehydrated right now! Makes IVs impossible, you feel absolutely turdy, and infection gets a foothold.

You need a vacation from your body right now. Get as much protein in as you possibly can; it is vital to growing new blood cells to fight the infection brewing within you. You stay in bed, with the kids in the bed also if you have the room and watch a movie (if you drop off you won't be insulting any of them, and they will be distracted) or ask them to squeeze your feet. I don't think anyone on this forum would blame you one bit if you pushed the envelope with your pain pills and you took a nice long nap over the weekend. If the pain worsens, or if blood is coming from any orifice, natural or man made--seek medical attention! If the pain worsens or you can't pee, get medical attention!
