I just feel sick over this issue with you Carrie. I wish I could change things and make them better or kick some A**.....
Anything you need, you know to ask.
Hang in there - and I am happy that you went to get some fluids in you. I am so angry over this, its hard to put into words.

The unsympathetic apathy of the doctors makes my head swim. Don't Canadian doctors have to take a hippocratic oath? It makes me heartsick.

My doctor has the hippocratic oath hanging in one of his exam rooms. I think his wife did it for him, it's written in calligraphy.
*hugs*

What baffles me is not so much that it takes so long to schedule an outpatient study, but the fact that you have had to go back to an ER so many times for fluids etc and still it hasn't been done. To have an ongoing problem that requires multiple invasive trips to the ER, it is absolute negligence to let it go on this long. If it is your gallbladder, the more inflammed it gets repitively, can make its removal all the more difficult and increase the risk of converting to an open procedure or complications from the procedure due to poor visualization with all the inflammation. The same would go for a bowel procedure. It is a fine line to walk with the surgeon. He has to operate on you so you don't want to piss him off too much. I would speak with the CEO of the hospital/chief of staff....bring television reporters with you next time if you have to. All I can say is I am sorry you are going through this and I hope you have an answer soon.

Thank you Donna... that was very well said.
I'm new to the forum and somewhat like a pitbull and that can come off as pushy at times. I apologize Carrie if you didn't feel the concern and absolutely care that I am feeling for you right now. I would never want to support you in any way other than you feeling cared about.
So... prayers of healing, strength, confidence to know what is the right next step and please know that above all else that you get the help you need.
Paige
