fitday
i just used fitday for the first time, and i entered what i have consumed today, and set goals, one of which i set min 200 calories max 1000 calories per day, and then when i viewed what my intake was today, oops, only 54calories today, 1/4cup tomato soup with milk for lunch and 1/4 piece of deli ham, shaved...i am drinking a bottle of propel in a day...and then thats it, and somedays i have s/f popsicles, but not so far today. Does anyone know the calories, etc in the propel, it has on the label for the vitamins but not the sodium, calories, etc.

Woooaaaaahhhhh, that is nowhere near enough calories. I know right now it is tough to get them in, but in the long run that will affect your health and sabotage the weight loss. Please try and start adding milk, supplements, dry milk, liquid yogurt, melt cheese into soups, etc. Good luck...eating and drinking will improve soon.

Carrie...as your angel.....I must tell you like the others GET IN MORE! At your stage I was doing soup 3 times a day, yogurt, applesauce, boiled egg whites, cheese and lots and lots of fluids. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. I never went under 500 calories after week 2.
Marty was the one who told me about the cocoa with powdered milk and hot water...add splenda to sweeten it up. It is not only protein, but liquid too.
At this stage, Nohr wants you to start introducing new foods and eating 3 meals a day and ALL YOUR LIQUIDS....
Come on girl......I will be hassling you until you get yourself up over 500 calories!

thanks for looking out for me, today was a bad day, it hurts to eat and drink, very heavy feeling, and yesterday when i tried to eat, i threw it up, so i went back to liquids without chunks today, but for supper i did much better so i posted from fitday what i had today, i shouldnt say i did better, cuz i chose unhealthy foods to a point, it was my daughters birthday - i know still not a good excuse
water is so hard, so i am drinking propel, and drinking in the morning, well its painful, i force it down but by noon im lucky if i have had 1/2 cup fluids and that includes breakfast, i will do better tomorrow, or at least try...i really am trying, i hate puking and when i feel that heavy feeling, doesnt that mean full? so i thought i am not to consume when i am full, but water and fluids can make me full too...i didnt think it would be this hard.
1/4 cup Tomato soup, cream of, prepared with milk
1 slice deli ham
1/4 beef wiener with a small piece thin brick marble cheese, wrapped in pillsbury dough, very little bread, mushed it all up to eat it
then afterwards, 1 tbsp ice cream cake - and it didnt make me sick, yippee
Totals calories 367 fat 18 carbs 31 protein 22
oh too many carbs and fat and not enough protein, wow what a great tool fitday is..i am going to plan my menu for tomorrow, and start with cottage cheese for breakfast...i will get the hang of this i promise.

Dr. Nohr told me when i left the hospital that i am to eat only 3 meals per day, and to remember that my stomach is only as big as my thumb....so that is what i am trying to do, but with 1/4 cup size of liquid meals at 3 times per day, i am not getting in enough of anytyhing.
today is better, i had some cottage cheese this morning and working on mashed potato with sour cream right now then soup for supper, but i get full so easily which is a great feeling, but difficult as i cant get in what i need to
thanks my angel

Hey Carrie....first off, I do......really I do......remember how hard it was early out. Even the thought of most foods could set me to nausea. Blech! That is why I used dry milk, milk, yogurt, and supplements as much as I could tolerate. I won't advise going against your doc, but have you clarified that the 3 meals applies at this point? To me, early out, they aren't really meals yet. I encourage you to clarify with them and tell them how little you are taking in. We want you HEALTHY! Keep hanging in there.....it gets better.

Carrie....It is really hard early out...I just really focused on getting in 3 meals, however little they were and most important the fluids. I never went anywhere without a bottle of water - nowhere! I wasn't getting in 64oz of fluid in the start, but 1/2 of that throughout the day...including the cocoa, herbal tea, propel, popsicles, snow cones. Popsicles really are the key to surviving early out. I ate snow cones - no flavor and loved the crunching of ice. Cold was never an issue for me, some it was.
Your meals now should be food, not liquids. Liquids happen between meals up to 1/2 hour or so before you eat and about an hour after you eat. The liquid meals can be of substance ie: protein....chicken soup, tomato soup, cocoa, protein drinks.
Feel free to email me...or chat here.......We are here for you!
An example of eating for a day at your stage was:
B- yogurt, boiled egg white (maybe only 1/2)
L - cheese, egg white, applesauce or chunky soup, maybe 1/4 grilled cheese
D - chili or ground beef with sauce, or cheese w/tomato sauce
In between each of the meals: 2-3 popsicles, 1 bottle of water, chicken cup o soup, 1 cocoa, 1-2 herbal tea. Slow but steady. I tried to space out my meals by 5 hours....thus an hour of waiting and 4 hours of actively drinking.

yeah, he said only to eat three times a day, and made sure i understood my stomach is only as big as my thumb, and to drink when im not eating, that was it
and so i am eating three times a day, and feel full after i eat, but i also feel full after i drink about 1/4 cup of fluid and that full feeling lasts a long time, if i try to drink when i have that feeling, it hurts and can come back up, so i dont push it, but it can take two hours for me to drink again, so that is why i am not getting in enough of anything....for some strange reason i can drink more propel than water right now, so i am just so i can get some fluids down, but i am noticing that my skin is suffering because of the lack of hydration, my skin is very dry and in places cracking, that worries me a bit, i am really really trying
thanks for your support, i dont know what i would do without the site.
