Carrie, when at work, keep calling Nohrs office until you get through. Tell Michelle the urgency in your pain. She needs to hear it.

To those in US, Canada is not that bad, in fact, in many ways the medical system is just as good as yours, just different. To have RNY for example..very easy to get approved - BMI of 40 - you get the surgery, no questions...the only issue is waiting the 3-4 years to have the surgery, a cancellation if you are lucky. You can always go to an ER and be checked out and hopefully have tests. I think in many cases with our different anatomy, they don't know what to do with us. There is a REAL lack of doctors doing the RNY surgery. In BC and Alberta combined, you can count them on one hand. Thats 5 doctors to cover 2 provinces (kinda like 2 States for you) LONG, LONG wait lists. The doctors who don't understand RNY, are very scared to do anything with us - thus one of the reasons we tend to go back to our own RNY doctor. For many of us, that means 1-2 days travel by road to get there. We don't want just anyone shoving things down us! If its a life threatening situation, of course any ER will take a look at us! One of the main reasons I didn't go to Mexico to have my RNY.

i did about 3 cups of fluid (monday) yesterday, and today i bought s/f popsicles, sugar free pudding (found some yeah), sugar free jello and sugar free ice cream to add to my protein powder and yogurt to make a smoothie type thing, hoping that will work, i have also been sipping green tea since i talked you, hadnt done fluids til after work, but working on it, just taking it slow..so slowly staying hydrated and adding liquidy things with calories just to keep me going, i will get my bloodwork results tomorrow and hopefully something shows there.
