Thanks for posting Carrie. I have been worried about you. I will NEVER move to Canada. I don't like the snail like pace they work at up there in health care. When is your CT scan??!!!

okay to finish my story now that i am at home, i had to hit submit and shut down the internet as my boss walked in and we are not to use the internet for personal at work, sorry didnt mean to leave you hanging, i will finish now
said nothing showed up in the ultrasound, but that does not mean all is okay, uh duh obviously this kind of pain means something, and its been for two months now, not since surgery so something is up or has changed, anyway he is doing a CT scan (waiting for a call from the hospital with a date for that). And has ordered alot more bloodwork as well as a kidney bloodwork to do before the CT scan to make sure my kidneys can take the dye they put in with that CT scan
he thought maybe it is a nerve that is causing attack like pains, but things have progressed a little bit over that passed week, i now have pains in my pouch after eating and drinking, i get pain in my back with tingling (gall bladder area in the back) after eating and drinking, i am not throwing up at all, so that is good, but can hardly take in much of anything, 3 cups of fluid a day if i am lucky and a couple bites of food at a time, so i am not eating at work so that i dont get an awful attack, just sipping on green tea, very little at a time as to not bring on an attack
i will have my bloodwork results back thursday and will call and follow up with the hospital before end of day tomorrow if i have not heard anything from them....i am not waiting too long for this CT, and if i struggle much more with fluids, i am going to demand IV just to get me back on track, i dont want to end up dehydrated
thanks everyone, i am staying on top of this, as well as things are so crazy with kid stuff, work stuff, etc.......but i am first, no worries on that one.

Carrie...you are not getting much in, and that is a big concern..hmm. Glad doc is doing tests to see what is going on. Sounds a great deal like gallbladder, especially since there is no vomiting.
You poor dear, going to work, only drinking green tea. Have you tried some of the profect protein vials? You get 27g of protein in a small amount of liquid. I remember my gallbladder attacks years ago, they are SO painful.
Take care.......hope they call for your CT scan tomorrow.

Carrie, I PM'd you the info.
If you are having pain that quick with 1/2 a popsicle, I am starting to wonder if you have a pouch leak or ulcer in the pouch...Nohr would be a good person to see. He might scope you again and check things out.

thats what i am hoping for, i left a message with michelle, his office opens tomorrow, so i am hoping she will call me back, i asked her to call me at work, that way i get the call directly
i am hoping he will see me, just not sure if i should wait until the testing my doc has ordered to be done so that he has more to go on, but i am getting frustrated, so not sure what to do.

Carrie,
I have experience with bowel perforation, obstruction, peritonitis, GI bleed. It was some of the worst pain I have ever had--gave me a whole new perspective on the 1 to 10 thing....
....and as such am very sensitive about listening to stuff with my body now. I;ve been following your posts for a bit now, and the progression of your symptoms is a little disconcerting to see. I had some preliminary flirting with partial obstruction a couple times and the symptoms sound similar. If you don't start feeling better right away, I would still go to the doctor. This stuff snowballs wicked fast, and it's real ugly to recover from. Don't try to tough this $hit out, because it's bigger than you. And it cheats. I'm a strong woman, and it has been 6 months since I was so sick. I'm JUST NOW starting to be able to do some stuff--easy stuff like make dinner or clean the bathroom. Don't wait for it to be miserable before going to the ER. If the pain doesn't lessen, or it doesn't improve significantly, just go--it's a slippery slide once you start decompensating and your lab work starts to be off. The germs are strong and demand their due. There's no such thing as a "mild case" of peritonitis--you will need medical help to heal. Learn from my foolhardiness and don't try to be a hero. I apologize for my strong response, but this stuff is real bad juju, and I don't want anyone to have to recover from it.

Agreeing with Donna
My second trip to the ER finally got the ball rolling - I agree with Donna. Roost in the freaking emergency room until they DO something. Poor baby--I'm flinching every time I read one of your posts. Pain starts futzing with your mind after a while...hang on, Carrie.

And where have you heard THAT advice before? Any surgeon that doesnt return call after call.. grrr... and only has office hours Tuesdays and Thursdays.. and leaves no emergency number.. and when you call the hospital they say call the office... not GOOD... she called last night and they said if its an emergency.. call 911.. I said.. so hang up with me and call 911.. Maybe an ambulance is what you need to wake them up.. and if they send you home... without resolution.. pick up the phone and call it again.. and again.. and again. It is SOooooooo frustrating.. and Im not the one in pain. She was braving a popsicle.. (and yes.. Braving is a good word).. and the pain got worse.
There has to be a way to get ahold of SOMEONE up there! I keep threatening to kidnap her and bring her to ANY ER in the states.. no 6 week wait for an Ultrasound, or CT scan.. or a scope if necessary.. its nuts..
Ok darlin.. Im done venting out loud about your docs LOL.. You already know how I feel about them.. and.. how many times have you tried NOhr so far today? Remember.. every hour.. on the hour.. or every 15 minutes.. whatever.. just keep dialing! (and does my nephew have his instructions on how to get a hold of auntie Jenbear? LOL.. I know you were going to talk to him last night.. Just making sure dearheart!)..
