Do you have protein drinks? like carnation instant breakfast? Yes, it is important that you stay hydrated but you also have to get the protein in for proper healing. Hang in there. Small, frequent sips are what you need. Good luck sweetie. We are here for you.

I also had hunger pains starting about a week and a half out, so it's normal. I was afraid that my surgery did not work too because of hunger pains, but I am CERTAIN now that it did. The funny thing about hunger pains is IF you could eat something solid, ONE bite right now would fill you up! LOL I think what we believe are hunger pains may be the pouch adjusting and healing from what it has been through and may not necessarily mean hunger. It has been cut apart, so give it some time to heal. All of my sensations were jumbled up for a while and were really strange. Everything felt different. I could not decipher hunger from fullness for a few weeks. It's sort of like having a new baby and it crying and you go through the list of things to see what is wrong and will make it stop crying. It was trial and error to figure out what made the pouch happy. WELCOME TO THE LOSING SIDE!!!!!!

ANYTIME! That is why we are here hon. If you get carnation instant breakfast, make sure it is SUGAR FREE! It should be mixed with 2% milk.
Any protein drink that you get: watch the sugar content. YOu want HIGH protein and LOW sugar. Good luck.

WORK.....no way girl...you rest..you don't want to run yourself down before getting well. You might feel great today, but don't push it...trust me on this. I too am in an office, and there was no way I could function this early out.
I forgot to say, that I lived on lots of jello, SF popsicles, cream soup for the first few weeks. Nohr has us starting on soft/puree foods at about 3 weeks, but only 1 new thing a day.
The foam is usually caused by eating or drinking too fast or your pouch not happy with what you put in. I still get it with salmon sometimes if I don't slow down to eat. Apparently as we don't have stomach acid anymore the slime or foam is breaks down our food as it heads into the intestine.

I think it's a good idea to stay home from work as long as you can. I had a burst of energy and felt really good too around the second week or so and then things quickly deteriorated again for a bit. I think I was doing too much too fast. I work at home so I only took off for a week and was back at it, not full speed of course, but I think I wore myself out so actually it set me back some, and all I do is sit at my computer and type all day. So take it easy as long as you can. Your body needs it.

Carrie at almost a week out I would eat:
B- yogurt
S- jello and or popsicles
L- cream soup and applesauce
S- jello
D- cream soup again
S - chicken in a mug soup - no noodles
Basically that was it for the first 2 weeks for me. I tried protein drinks, but could not do them at this point. I can now. If you can disguise the protein powder into things, even the better.
S= snack.....Nohr doesn't like snacks, but at this early out, I did them to keep up my stength. I drank about 8-16oz a day of propel or herbal tea at this point...I had a hard time getting in any more. Hot cocoa made with splenda and milk powder.
Hope this helps.
At the 2-3 week mark, I added in scrambled eggs, puree anything, soup that was blended - few chunks, oatmeal, cereal, cheese, a little fish.
Key thing is to eat very small, keep up the fluids, take your vitamins and rest.
