can you hear me cheering
i got 67 grams of protein in today - and it was all from FOOD, can you believe it? and so far 4 cups of fluid and working on a bottle of propel for the rest of the evening, bringing my fluids to 7 cups today - yippee, will aim for 8 tomorrow, started late today and if you read about my bad day post then you know why.
chicken, chicken, and more chicken and cheese and a little bit of soft bacon bits, and a cup of chicken broth for fluids was included in the above totals

Yipee Carrie is eating again and keeping it down!
You asked how I was doing. Ok, trying not to get the flu like the rest of the house....body aching, headache and such here, but no vomitting...thank goodness. Had a bad day yesterday, but good today.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Carrie. Getting food in must definitely be helping with that. Keep up the good work you are doing awesome girl. Hope all of us can avoid that flu it seems to be going around out here too.

i got 80 grams of protein in today and all with eating food - good ol' chicken breast
working on liquids now but my question is
can i get too much protein? and should i maybe stop the protein at 65 grams and eat veggies and fruit after i have had my protein for the day? i find protein way easier than fruits and veggies, fruits are too sweet and rich and veggies feel heavy and hurt sometimes, so i have been eating chicken (not sure why that is so easy to eat), i get in a whole chicken breast in 3 meals (yes i ate chicken with cottage cheese for breakfast today, and chicken and shrimp for lunch), and marble cheese is good if its melted first, so i melt it over the chicken (for supper and ate two peas), i eat very small bites and very slow, taking a half an hour to eat each meal, but not sure if i should be eating just protein...i am taking my vitamis too and drinking propel and water.
boy am i glad i had that gastroscopy, i didnt know there was a problem, now that i am not struggling to eat/drink i now know it was a bit of a problem.

I think the range they told us was 60-80 grams.....unless you are doing extensive exercising. But I would think either way works....as long as you get the liquids and proteins and make healthy choices....you'll be fine.

definitely choosing healthy foods and my calories are 600-800/day
today with the 80 grams of protein, it put my calories at 748
so thats why i wasnt sure if i should add other foods if i am meeting the protein requirements
and i am at 7-8 cups of liquid a day now so that is a relief
thanks marty

You're doing great Carrie! If I had to rely strickly on food for protein, I'd be in trouble, because I just can't eat it and the liquids are a struggle for me too most days. I have to constantly make an effort. You should be proud of yourself for doing so well so early out!

I drink two acheiv one drinks a day. I always get that minimum of 40grams each day. I don't really count my grams or calories after that. I just try to eat right. I don't obsess over it.

Ok, just one more comment.......at the distance out you are, I think the calories you had are great......but I would say that within a few months try to get in at least 1000 so you don't go into starvation mode. But as new as your pouch is you are probably similar to what I could do back then. You are doing great!!
