Default am I abnormal????

I feel like I must be abnormal, because I just had my surgery on Monday and am having no problems at all eating or drinking! Spooky! I've just been following the plan for this week...breakfast 1/2 cup of cream of wheat
1/2 cup of vanilla soy milk
10am snack - 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
1 scoop of protein powder
Lunch - 1/2 cup of strained cream soup
1/2 cup sf pudding
2pm snack - 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
1 scoop protein powder
Dinner - 1/2 cup of strained cream soup
1/2 cup of low fat yogurt
8pm snack - 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
1 scoop protein powder
Am I weird to be able to eat all this? Because I'm having no problems at all with it. I'm also able to get a sf fudgebar in there too! I also drink 64 oz of crystal lite decaf ice tea in a day. I feel happy I am 3 days out and not having problems, but also I feel weird because it seems like I am able to eat a lot more than most of you did. Maybe they screwed up my pouch! lol! Well, I'm curious to see what your thoughts are.

I am glad you are feeling great. At 3 days out, I couldn't ever eat like this..I remember just sipping a few sips of broth and trying to take a few sips of protein shakes. I wasn't allowed cream of wheat or food.

No food? Wow! My doctor only has us do the clear liquid thing for 1-2 days. Then it's on to liquids the next week, then pureed the next, and soft mechanical, then soft, then it's pretty much normal/whatever you can tolerate. I think I'd be starving if I were still on broth and jello. Of course my stomach seems to be making a lot of noise...growling/grumbling/gurgling/etc. So it's hard to say if it's hunger or just my stomach processing the stuff I'm pouring in there! I do feel great though, and even though it's been a bit "soft" (I know TMI)...I have had a movement today and yesterday, which to me is a good sign that all systems are back in working order!

Carrie, glad to hear the endoscope was done....and yes being at 8mm is quite small....you should find it MUCH better now.

About being awake...its a conscious sedation...(the date rape drug). Some people remember the procedure, others don't. All i remember is them asking me to roll toward the doctor and them putting in the bite guard.

What did you feel?

Daisy.....is she a Nohr patient?

daisy is Ferries patient here in red deer, i am going to see her friday

i remember everything - the music played, the nurses/doc talking, Barb keeping me calm and reminding me to breathe through my nose, i was gagging and spitting up a bit, i could feel it go down and then felt them pull it ALL the way out of my throat, my throat hurts today, i was awake through it all, and afterwards, finally fell asleep around midnight last night (after being awake since 4am that morning and having to drive there) then i woke at 2 this morning - and havent been able to fall asleep again, so 2 hours of sleep...they gave me a painkiller of the demerol family and i am known to get wired from demerol, but cannot take anything else really, i asked for no pain drugs but they refused to do that in case he had to dialate, they said that could be painful, so i accepted the pain drug....i feel better and can actually eat and drink much easier, so glad to have that done

how are you doing Lisa?

Sounds horrible to me. I would have been gagging everywhere. I am sorry you had to go through that experience...but glad you are dialated and can eat/drink better.
