We probably cannot make it down there but I am curious what part of Missouri you live in. My dad was from a little town in the boot heel called "Deering" (near Sikeston). He grew up on a cotton plantation. Just curious.

Where are ya at Polly?

I'm down in Ste Genevieve, which is about an hour down the river from St Louis. My mom (Henri is her forum name) also lives in Ste Gen, but will be moving up to West County in about 3 weeks.

Smile St. Clair Missouri resident

Hey all show me staters. I am from a small town called St. Clair Mo. I just had the rouen y on June 9th. I am very interested in how others are coping I know of no ohters and need peeps to talk too . Family supportive but ya know they have no idea whats going on inside. Even when they try their hardest. I was 267 poounds on June 9th 2008 and today July 16( my 18th anniversary) i weigh 230 so I am wondering if i am up to par or what? still having troubles with food being digested (on step 4 yet.) Still no eggs they no longer like me. I want solids so bad thats my craving ! So everyone let me know if you think i am on the right track and any suggestions on speeding up things let me know. I feel like I am not losing as quickly as i should be. Open to any and all suggestions. 1 question for someone....... Does the protein help in the weight loss post op? I have trouble drinking it anymore and kinda gave it up. let me know and thank you to all who reply and CONGRATULATIONS to you all I know how hard it has been and will continue to be for all of us. I miss my friend FOOD but I am getting better at it.

Hey Jill! Welcome to TT!
I am 10 months post opp. and down 125 lbs.
Protein protein and PROTEIN is a must as well as get your buns movin! The solids will get better about 3 months out you should notice the changes. I can pretty much eat anything now (except the no no's) I have avoided everything thing with sugar. I am too scared to try.
I started working out in a gym and with a trainer about 6 weeks ago and the inches are falling off. I am really toning up.
I have no regrets except I wish I had done this earlier!
It is so fun now to buy clothes. I travel a lot for my job and in a new city almost every week. Tonight I am in the "Big Easy" New Orleans! Spent time tongight on Bourbon street and bought a couple of cute T-shirts...was so cool to buy a size large...I was a 3x! WOW!
Please check out my PollyC's journey thread for my story and journey. Also stay in touch the support here on TT is AWESOME and I have met some amazing people!

Take care and BEST of luck with your journey!

Default Not losing fast...........

I am not losing weight like I thought I would. I am trying to get all the protein down it is very hard I am so sick from it. I am down to 223 I have lost around 44 pounds since June 9th 2008 and I have only been losing about a pound or 2 a week the last 2 weeks. They say that is normal but I wonder if anyone else did that as well? I am now 8 weeks post op and unsure of how the weight loss changes take place. I was losing like overnight and now no loss I am freakin' out here. I keep my appointments , not scheduled for one though for another 4 weeks . Help !Thanks in advance for any suggestions or answers to my silly questions. I am glad there is some where to go to ask. God Bless ............. Gina

Default Hi from St. Louis

Dear Polly, It sounds like you have a lot of experience with the Lap-Band. I have all my testing done and ready to go in for the procedure. If at all possible I would like to drive to Springfield and meet you for a few hours to talk about everything involved. I can come and visit anytime that is good for you. I hope we can meet.
Blessings, Roy Esslinger

that sounds... a bit ... stalkerish lol

you can usually find more information on the lab band portion of the boards here from people that have that procedure. I believe that Polly had the RNY

Default Not a Stalker

I am no stalker and resent your implication. I am happily married have 6 children, a good church goer and other then being FAT! I am every womens dream of the perfect man. At least thats what my wife tell me all the time. and thats all that matters. I just would like to talk to someone face to face about what I am getting ready to encounter. Maybe we should start a group that could all get together one day for a kinda reunion like they do in high school. Get all dressed up one day and have a party of sorts. Why does everybody always think that everyone on the internet is trying to take advantage of people? Arnt their any DECENT human beings out there or am I the only one?
