Western Michigan Support Group
Well I'm the leader of a support group in Grand Rapids. I thought I would post the information about our little group. (I know....a shameless plug. Yep, I'm guilty!  )
Little Victories Support Specialists; Grand Rapids
The support group is for pre and post-op patients from any Bariatric practice. Also it is for anyone who may be interested in finding out more information on wls.

That is awesome. I live in the U.P. and the closet support group to me I believe is a 2 hour drive, Marquette MI. I would love to attend but I cant make the drives. I would love to see a group started where I live.

Where in the UP do you live, Kim? I don't know of any up there either. Do you guys have snow yet? We saw our first flakes yesterday but nothing on the ground. We spend almost every summer up camping in the UP!! I LOVE it up there!! Maybe one day we can meet up! If I hear of any groups up your way I'll let you know.

I live in Lake Linden around Houghton/Hancock area. Copper Harbor is not to far from me either. Where abouts do you have a camp at?

Ok, I know the area and have been there several times, We camp all over the U.P. Our first stop is always Indian Lake though down by Mannistque. I love the Copper Harbor area though. It's so beautiful up there.

Special speaker for next meeting
I just wanted to let people in the Grand Rapids area know about a special speaker we will be having next month.
Dr James Paauw from Spectrum Health will be speaking to us. Jim is a physician that specializes in patients who struggle with nutritional defiencies. He will be talking about the malabsorption in regards to wls, what deficiences we might experience and signs and symptoms of them. I think this will be a very informative meeting, filled with information that is very important for us to know.
