Buyers Remorse?
I am just finishing my 6th week and have lost 25 lbs and I have to ask...
Am I the only one who is/has gone through "Buyers Remorse" after having GBP done? I am really regretting having this done! GOD!! Yeah Yeah Yeah, I know that I am suppose to feel better about myself after dropping weight; but WOW this has not been as easy as I'd been led to believe. I still get 'hunger pangs' when someone walks buy with a pizza or hamburger. But it drives me crazy!! Does everyone go through this? I have to take my soup upstairs and eat so everyone else in my family can have their meal. Steak, pizza BBQ ribs etc...
Yes, I know I am whinning, and yes I know I have to suck it up and I will. I just need to know if I am the only one who is/has gone through this and just wondering how long it lasts. I did not have a lot of weight to lose (80 lbs) and I know that it is suppose to get better.
Sorry to all for the whinning and grumpy attitude.
Michael

Not sure if you're looking for only men's replies since this is in the men's issues section, but I can assure you that it is very common with both men & women! It's normal.. usually happens somewhere from immediately post op to a few weeks or so out.. once you start getting the hang of things and can start eating a bit more.. things will settle down and you'll feel better!
Good luck!

It's very normal. I think most people go through it. In a couple months you will be able to eat some steak or even a slice of pizza if you want it (but go easy on the pizza, OK?) and it will seem much easier.

I had a super depressed moment last spring when I realized that it was my first easter ever without candy. stupid, I know!
I still have moments like that, though, like at my niece's first birthday party the other month when I couldn't have any of the birthday cake, but it gets easier.
sometimes, I have to resort to consoling myself with the knowledge that I'm not the fattest one in the room anymore :P

I have to admit that I've struggled with this a lot. A part of me is happy I had the surgery. Every time I look in the mirror or my husband comments about my skinny legs and arms, I think I did the right thing. Then there are days, when I think "what have you done to yourself"?? This usually comes from me getting sick to my stomach over something I ate, or looking at my once beautiful hair that is now not so attractive. In the long run, I'm sure the benefits far outweigh not having the surgery so, I'll ultimately be happy with my choice. I'm sure you will too.

Buyers Remorse?
I had Buyers Remorse after waking up after surgery. After reflection, I was just disappointed I allowed it to get to this point.
I dropped from 300 to 274 on my own with portion control. I told my surgeon I would be very happy at 210, my high school weight. His only reply, you should be able to do that by eating healthy. 210 is still morbid obese for 5'8", but he did not lecture me. I don;t know what my goal will be.
I'm about 8 weeks out so we had surgery about the same time. I trying various foods. We had some ribs last weekend and I was happy with one rib vs. 1 slab. My issue is I still tend to eat too fast especially if it's something I've always enjoyed or having conversation (so now we talk less at meals).
It's ok to eat somewhere else until you get more comfortable... hopefully the family understands.
Good luck...each day gets better.

Yep, very common. Mine lasted about 3 days right after surgery. But got over it and very grateful now

I feel that way when I start to get bored with the foods I have available in the house. So when I feel down I try to change up my very limited menu. Today I went and got some tomato and basil wheat thins and some tuna, made a tiny tuna sammich, and I was just as happy as could be
