Default Multi-Vitamins for Men

Just an FYI. I've been taking the Men's Multi for a while thinking it may have been better suited/balanced for my needs. However, I recently discovered that I have not been getting in enough Iron (not included in the Men's Mutli).

Also FYI, Iron and Calcium supplements should not be taken together as they interact (which puts a little hitch in my supplement schedule ).

Jim.

I take my iron (and vitamin C) just as I'm going to bed. Trying to fit it in around everything else (especially given my high consumption of dairy), is a problem.

Carbonyl iron seems to cause us less problems. Celebrate and Bariatric Advantage are good but I'm cheap - I use Sundown Carbonyl iron but Feosol works is another option.

Sundown doesn't seem to be widely available at pharmacies but Amazon and eBay are good sources.

Amazon.com: sundown carbonyl iron - Health & Personal Care

carbonyl iron, great deals on on eBay!

Thanks Corrine

I was kind of hoping that adding the Iron back into my multi-vitamin might be enough . Right now I am just waiting a half hour to take my calcium after my multi.

BTW (and you may know this) I was just doing some research on how Iron and Calcium interact in our bodies, and it appears that this interaction would normally occur when the supplements come into contact in the stomach in the presence of stomach acid. Since we no longer have a stomach (per se) and we produce little or no stomach acid, I have to wonder if this "interaction" is really much of an issue for us...

Jim,

If there's no iron in your multivitamin then you can take your calcium at the same time.
