Question Any Cigar Smokers Here ?

I've noticed that my humi is emptying out much faster than usual. Perhaps I've replaced eating with enjoying the great flavors of my cigars. I imagine the money I'm saving on fast food will go to keep my humidor stocked

Ummm... you know you're not supposed to smoke after a gastric bypass, right?

Yep...no smoking. My Doc said that the largest percentage of people with complications after surgery are smokers. I would find a way to quit if I were you.

Well looking at this old thread, I'm not the only post-op cigar smoker

Maybe you're not the only cigar smoker. Still not smart.

I dont come here much anymore as Im tired of the bullshit, (like people telling what you shouldn't do when they dont have the facts! but not Poet;s comments, she is one of the special ones here to me!! Love ya Poet!! but I must respond to your post, Yes, I do understand your desires, and you can blow off they nay sayers, as the inhalation of smoke is the damage causing portion of smoking, YES you risk the typical mouth cancers issues, but you also risk getting run over by a bus on the sidewalk, and I would so pissed if I got killed by a bus, and didn't have that last cigar!!

READ THIS ONE!!
The best CIGAR..

PS..smoking a nice Macanudo Prince Phillip as I type!!

Thanks for the reply Big Dog !

I hear ya on the B.S. but I'm a noob here so I can't say much. I think cigars have helped me relax and heal since the surgery. Instead of thinking about food, I can sit in the yard and enjoy peace and quiet for an hour or so. I had the surgery to lose weight, not to live in a plastic bubble.

I read the thread you linked to, and got a good laugh

I had a 5 Vegas Classic Torpedo for breakfast

Sorry to break it to you but cigars do not help you heal after surgery. In fact, smoking impedes healing. It diminishes blood flow to the injured tissues and increases your risk of developing hernias and leaks because you don't heal as well if you smoke.

He is pretty early out, my bad, I waited for a year and a half, but again, the blood issues are related to the inhalation of smoke, again, if you dont inhale cigars (cant imagine inhaling them, but I know some that do!!) the healing impairments are diminished!!

The relaxing and healing is to the mental aspect, not the physical. I should have been more clear on that.

I do not inhale so I'm not worried about that affecting my healing.
