I am always kind of surprised to see that "hunting" involves a lot of sitting there waiting for something to wander by so you can shoot it.

Hoping to get out for deer season this year, but don't have anywhere around here to hunt. Got close to 2 months to find somewhere though...

Come to Western NY. Around here, you can randomly fire off 10-20 rounds and have a decent chance of hitting a deer.

See, I bet that mountain lion didn't sit around in a tree waiting for a deer to go by!

Actually...he probably did. But he didn't get to shoot it!

Too bad you cannot hunt cows. I've never been that partial to venison.

Corrine will become famous soon enough
Default There goes the last of my plums!

Well, "Elvis" came through the fence, ripped the nylon netting to pieces and has just stuffed himself stupid with the last of my beloved Japanese yellow plums.

He really is beautiful. He's been coming here every afternoon for a week to check out the plums. Apparently, today they were just right for him! lol

Sadly, unless he has a change of attitude (I was only about 20ft away from him for that second picture), he won't last long. He didn't even move when the dog were barking at him.

This morning was a calm cool morning and also muzzleloader season here in NC. SO, I slipped off to this little pocket of land and sat overlooking a huge field down towards the creek. Two does came out across the creek about 8:15 and walked up and down the creek for about 20 minutes. When they stopped I squeezed one off and when the smoke cleared they were still standing there. It was a clean miss. O well! You live to fight another day. By the time I got the gun loaded again they were in the edge of the woods. It was a 125 yard shot, open sights, with a muzzleloader. I probably shouldn't have tried the shot to begin with, but you can't hide redneck!!!!
